sorry...mince?
[/quote]
In Scotland if your describing something that is not particularly good its mince! "Gee that pick-up sound great!" or "don't buy it, its mince!" Good or bad, happy or sad! -
Mmmm! let me know how you get on Tom please. Its whether to go for one or wait until a second hand Underwood becomes available on Basschat.

I use a similar bass guitar one. Works fine, but I would love a hand drill with a winder on the end. Luthiers use them and it's quick!

Yeah Geoff! The guy that looks after my basses has one, must ask him where he got his, probably Touchtone Tonewoods (Stentor) he puts on a set of strings in seconds. -
Christ that's cheap as chips!
Thanks BassBus -
WANTED double bass peg-winder second hand/used/unwanted.
Ta! -
The other thing to remember is the feet of the bridge also need shaped and trimmed down to allow sound to come through bridge.

Great idea Monckyman! thanks for posting.

Your not gonna believe this, met an old friend who does up old instruments, he was showing me an old bass he was taking old parts from and low and behold on the tatty old bridge was an Underwood. He gave me it for nothing and said 'that's your Christmas'
God bless us everyone!
Make your pick-up list and get it ready for The basschat January sales!
Have a great Christmas! -
Welcome to basschat Missouri

Hi mate, no problem, if your really wanting to get rid of them all, I would list them with this post to anybody who is interested and also post in For sale DB paraphinalia or what ever its called. Or you could be a mate an PM me first if you have an Underwood for sale ha ha!

Thanks folks! I have mucked around over the years lowering action and using old bridges as a template but I would like to have a go at setting it up properly. I will have a look at your link.
Thanks again

Hi, I'm on the Isle of Wight but 'ANG ON! ...I've just dug it out and it appears to be broken! :-(
So sorry to disappoint, but I'm certainly not in the habit of swapping or selling faulty stuff!
I do have LOTS of pickups though, some of which I'm thinking of moving on.
Is it a Realist specifically that you're after?
I have a boxed Realist Sound Clip and a boxed complete Schertler DYN-B system including preamp that I've moved away from now, amongst many others!

I would use Dexion or similar angle iron cut to size to fit dimensions of your amp, you can then remove as necessary eg; on stage.

Look forward to hearing how you get on Tom
