4. Hi, I recently bought myself a couple of Crown GLM 100 mikes which I thought I would put one on my DB and one on my acoustic guitar but it turns out that they need to be powered by another unit for example The Fishman acoustic blender! Is there any other possible way to power up those bad boys as I can't afford to buy The Fishman which by the way is discontinued. Have tried them thru phantom power units but no joy!
 5. Hi ubassman, Thanks for getting back, how very knowledgeable you are! thought it was older myself. back and sides are indeed plywood, I will read the wiki article and see what I can dig up.

 11.
Sits well..??? in what regard? tempo..?? you'd need to change the key but off the top of my head, 'get lucky' might work.
More groove and feel rather than tempo as in "sits in the same groove!" but your right, Get lucky cuts it! bloody high vocal tho! Ta!
 12.
For some reason I immediately thought of this:
Love this song Delberthot! might work? bit hard to sing and play tho! maybe something a bit more commercial?

 14. Any of you Basschat Brothers out there can think of a Song that sits well with Bill Withers "Lovely Day?" Only ones I can think of is a Herb Alpert instrumental "Rise", a jamiroquai tune, the name escapes me as I can't stand Jamiroquai and The twat in the hat! and a Fleetwood Mac song with the dodgy "Oooh! Ahhh! at the end. Mind's went blank thinking about Stevie Nicks! Ooo er misses!

 16. Hi Joe, Will stick a new set of strings on and play it in a bit, see how I get on, strange one this as I used to play this bass a lot and it used to sound bigger than its size! too many bloody basses and too much gear, think that's the problem oh! and going deaf and getting auld! 17. Just had my old 1/4 size bass fitted with new sound post and tailpiece shortened as I need a back up bass after selling my old back up bass. I haven't been playing my 1/4 that often as I noticed about 6months ago it had been sounding a bit lifeless and thuddy as opposed to its normally sweet sound. Strings weren't that old so had my guy look at it and he suggested new sound post and tail piece shorten but when bass come back it sounded exactly the same, lifeless and thuddy, especially over G. Could it be because I haven't been playing it that often that the wood has kinda went to sleep so to speak because of no vibration. I know that with new acoustic guitars I own that were needed played in, I battered them everyday (play-wise) and stuck them in front of a speaker for weeks. This definitely helped now those guitars sing like a bird. My friend also has a gismo which clips on instruments and emits vibrations through the body of instruments, might ask for a loan to see if I can wake this old boy up again. Any thoughts?solutions guys?

 19. Hurley is a great pick up for the money! in my experience, what sounds great to one guy will sound crap to another bass player. he is now making pre amps too!
