I don't know about Reaper, but in Logic you sort this out by making each track mono and then assigning the appropriate audio interface input to each channel.
Ah! I've found an input setting called "force mono" that seems to have done it, thanks

Hi all, I'm trying to record using both channels of my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 into Reaper, where channel 1 is through my EBS pre-amp and channel 2 is a complete dry DI from the link output of the pedal.
The trouble I'm having is when I use both channels and set the tracks in Reaper to the respective inputs on the interface they pan left and right, whereas I want them both mono.
Reason being I want to record with the EBS to get the sort of tone I like, but also want to give the songwriter options for re-amping when mixing, should he want something different.
I've tried mucking about with the panning in Reaper, but a) that didn't seem to work for channel 2 and b) it feels like this must be a common issue with a simple solution I've not found yet.
Thanks all

I'm fairly safe in the knowledge I can't really afford anything big, but if an MXR envelope filter or a Earthquaker Devices shimmer reverb came up at the right price, at the right time I'd jump on those.
-
I've got nothing booked so looking out for bands that need a bass player or venues that need a band, quite possible there will be cancellations this year.
To be honest though, I'm not really expecting there to be any gigs again this NYE, SO we'll probably order Italian and watch a movie.

I'd think that if they were designing the five string properly, ie as an instrument in it's own right not just the standard four string with a wider neck and extended pickup, then I would expect it to sound similar but different.
Really, I'd hope the five string pickup had been designed with a low B in mind and so would be voiced differently to the four string equivalent.

Dillinger Escape Plan - it's keeping the kids upstairs and therefore making it slightly more likely that they're tidying their rooms

I've got very familiar with Wren Kitchens and DFS's hold music and if I were to hear them now would probably trigger Pavlovian rage.
There was supplier I used to call quite regularly in my supply chain days in Essex who had a pub-rock CD as their hold music, Judas Priest and similar. When I complimented them on this they said it had been set by a previous employee and they didn't know how to change it

When I was in a thrash band at uni, we did a gig with a death metal band where the bassist had one of those and let me use it.
it was amazing, tone was like being hit in the face with a brick

Their main market is the rock market in Europe (quite bizarre as their initial wave of success was from the R&B market). They never really got the class D amp thing to work over here that well, despite the Reidmar being a killer range of amps...
And the thing is, they seem to have lost a fair bit of that market to Darkglass.
At the metal festival I worked at recently, of the band not using the house SVT 4-Pros, I think 60% were using Darkglass M900s and the other 40% Orange Terrors

I'd just cut my losses and put the £200 towards a more reliable, similarly voiced amp like a Tech VT Bass 500

I bought it, listened to it three times and cannot remember a single thing off Torn Arteries and will probably never listen to it again, which is a shame because I thought Surgical Steel was really good. Mastodon was ok but nothing incredible, Helloween was ok but nothing incredible.
Ascension Codes by Cynic, which came out last week, is one of the few releases which has really captivated me. It's a very interesting piece of work.
It has been a fairly weak year for the heavy stuff, in my opinion.I've not heard the Cynic yet, will give it a go.
I'd strongly recommend the new albums by Urne if you're into heavy stuff

I've been very impressed with the new Carcass album - Torn Arterie, as well as the new Dream Theater one this year
How you write an album as good as Torn Arteries 30+ years into your career is beyond me

I'd be fine with it, sounds like they actually know what they want and run a pretty professional operation.
Doesn't mean they'd like me of course, as I have a tenancy to ignore instructions that I think don't make sense.

This morning I'm really enjoying Bloodmoon:I by Chelsea Wolfe.
This has come as quite a surprise, I'm a fan of everything Chelsea has done but this is on another level to the rest of her excellent music. Very dark and constantly moving between heavy, doomy riffs and quiet, almost beautiful verses.
I think that may be my album of the year, I'm a big Converge fan but haven't heard loads of Chelsea Wolfe.
Not sure why, I really like Emma Ruth Rundle and Marissa Nadler, but for some reason never heard much of Chelsea Wolfe..
