1. I used to use my mag 2x10 combo all the time with a (3 guitarist) post-hardcore type band and although i'd sometimes need to crank it a little higher than I was comfortable with (never further than about 2 o'clock), it never failed to give me a decent volume level/ overall sound - usually, but not always, having PA support. If you've got the room in the van and the energy to lug it about, an extra cab is always better - but I'm lazy so never have

3. thanks for the good advice guys - i thought it was a bit too optimistic to get a decent DB for that money time to hunt down an EUB
4. i've been toying with the idea of getting into double bass playing for a while and the offer of a string of shows has given me the push i needed to actually buy one the down side is that my budget is minimal (£350ish) and i don't really have a clue what i'm looking at. so i came across this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jazz-Size-Double-B...20&sr=1-207 and wondered if it's exactly what i'm looking for or if i'd be better off either looking for a cheap second hander or spending my money on an EUB in the same price range? I don't need a top quality instrument - just one that i can live with for a couple of gigs per year thanks James
5. I'm in. it ain't flawless but it's mine. all mine.

7. SOLD Squier Bronco bass - well used but great condition although this bass is marketed as a beginner instrument i've used it for theatre work and professional shows without complaint (after a little treatment to cancel out the hum from the strat pickup) I bought it with a project in mind but due to my laziness it's been just sitting around at home so its time to move on. £80 for all the official info: http://www.squierguitars.com/products/sear...rtno=0310902506 pics of the actual bass are here http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/squier-b...o-bass/85360901 thanks
8. £320 For Sale - Excellent condition 500w Orange head - great lightweight and size efficient (did I mention loud and awesome?) bass amp I bought this head before going on a tour last year where i was supplied with cabs (usually an Ashdown 8x10 - huge sound)- the head has been used about 30 times in total and was brilliant but it's been sitting in my house ever since i got back. it comes with a carry case and original packaging all the official info is here: http://www.orangeamps.com/terror-bass-500/ and since i'm an idiot and can't seem to fathom uploading photos straight to this ad, here's the gumtree ad i posted with pics of the actual head.
