Kraken started following A bit of bed time reading , Vintage bass refret , why stack 2 810's on their side? and 3 others
-
I have a 1973 R'backer 4000 that needs a refret as I would like to start using it as it was my late father's bass. I am based in Banbury and am looking for someone who is within a reasonable drive from there.

I've seen this before, but seeing Saxon last week I was watching the breakdown of the set between them and Judas Priest and saw that their Bassist had 2 810's that were laid on their side and stacked on top of each other. given that in the usual configuration it won't make a difference if they are on their side or stood up, at least in terms of Speaker facing, why do some players do this?

Is there a popular bass player, that you just don’t get?

aren't they. made me look again at the main player I don't get and think about if the problem is me or them. (it's definitely me). apologies Jeff Berlin, I will give you another listen. still hasn't changed my opinion that most Jazz is academic rather than music though -

Price Drop - £600 I can’t justify keeping this amp as it has become a Backup for gigs that are large enough and that doesn’t seem to justify keeping it or hauling it around. It has lived its entire life in a rack case and sounds great from quiet to loud that Ampeg sound, no crackles on the pots, all amp outputs sound good, but I no longer have a Mono Bridge cable. The footswitch used to work and is the only thing I’ve not tested. I’m looking to sell this to fund the Purchase of an Ampeg PF-20T or PF-50T so will discuss terms for a swap for one of those if you are so inclined. If you want extra photo’s of something specific just ask and I’ll do my best to get that for you. Cash on collection – Ideally you will collect but willing to travel a short way (thinking about 30 Miles) from Banbury to meet. Been measured at 26Kg, which is the reason for this.

once upon a time I could, it would appear that skill has degraded with neglect. i've recently, for the first time, taken up the bass seat for a local musical production. that is prooving both the point that my skills for reading have degraded and has/is bringing them back quite quickly. just need to improve my sightreading a lot. - overall a good experience and one I'm enjoying (being tucked out of sight of the audience was something I didn't think I would like as much)

I've got the G50 and the amount of fun you can have running around venues with a wireless, you just have to be careful not to let the stage get too empty

just a quick note to thank Chaos Daveo for the sale, I'm finding this bass harder and harder to put down as the pictures do not do it justice and it sounds awesome. Dave himself was an absolute Gent when I picked it up offering all sorts of refreshment, I only wish I hadn't still a few hundred miles to drive at that point. in an effort to recover some face, however, I can say that I also got a copy of the Horny Goat Blues Band EP and it is fantastic, (the beast) Chupacabra and Hammer and Nail being a couple of stand out tracks and I'd recommend checking them out to anyone. (I'll be having a word with a couple of places I know round Buckinghamshire see if we can't get them to drive south for a night or two)
