1. Thank you all. I am waiting for the bass to arrive to try out some solutions. I can think of use it for studio and gigging with not so loud bands
2. Hi all, I bought a second hand fretless acoustic bass which was built without any mic/pickup. What is the best way to amplify it having in mind that I want to come closest possible to a double bass sound? Microphone or piezo and which?
3. This is it! IMG_2175.HEIC
4. Thanks this shades some light on the thickness but 0.6 inches is a lot more than I had imaged!!! I will post an image I took from a book which shows they are a few millimeters thick
5. wow this is right what I need! Many thanks!
6. do I have to buy the pdf from him or does he give it to me?
7. Hi all, I am in the process of restoring a bass and I am ideally looking for a vectorial representation of the pickguard of the 51 precision bass to be able to order one. Has anyone got it? Can anyone comment also on how thick would it have to be to be faithful to the original? I am only interested in the 51-54 (the original model without body contour). The bass will be butterscotch and the pickguard black matte. How should the finish/material be? Can anyone help me?
8. Tried both side by side. They are the same. I am just not so used with the controls a la Music Man so I would go for the casa if it is not so much more expensive. I dig that sound. Perfect for a precision IMHO!
9. Andrea Goldsworthy (Paloma Faith) for the round sound and the way she fits the sound of the bass to the band.
10. I don't understand whether they are a bridge+neck set or they are identical. What do you mean by "long"? Will they fit a standard jazz routing?
11. Bump! This is still for sale.
12.
how heavy is the cab?
25Kg. As far as I remember the lightest 4 x 10'' on the market
13. I'm selling my Mark Bass 104HR(8ohm) brand new. I have never used it in gigs. Only for practising at home and not even much. Price is £650. It is mint and unused so please consider this! Can post pictures soon here or on request via email. The cab is available in central London to try out and/or collect personally.
14. Hi all, I've got a Digitech Badmonkey well looked after. I would sell it or trade for a chorus or other pedals. Feel free to propose any trade. My favourite pedals would be a chorus (EBS, Boss, EHX), wouldn't mind a Line selector (boss), a nano bassballs, a little big muff or a EBS multidrive. I'm based in London so I would prefer to exchange personally
15. PM'ed yesterday but got no answer yet...
16. I've seen that the Behringer Micromix doesn't have a cue output, just a normal output. Digging in eBay I saw there is the ART Powermix II which has a line/headphone output and should be of better quality, isn't it? Can you please advice on ART?
17. Hi everybody, I'm new to this forum so I hope I don't do anything wrong. I don't even know if I posted it in the right place...anyway... It's the first time I live in a flat and I'm looking for a way to play in earphones with a reasonable quality without spending loads of money. I wanted to start with my ipod earphones and buy a cue amp. I saw there is one from Behringer which also acts as a micro mixer so that I could eventually play on a track. Also please advice on headphones models(remember not so expensive but with reasonable quality) By the way I have a Mark Bass LMII but there is no headphones output and if I use any other output the signal is so weak... Please also tell me where to buy it if you know what (online or in London). Cheers
18. A Sadowsky preamp is adequate only if you like its sound. I love them but I think they create an "instant Marcus Miller" sound at least if you use them with a Jazz Bass... An MXR Bass DI+ would be better fitting if you only look for a booster but want to have something more: a preamp and a distortion. I don't think you should use a sansamp with any other preamp but haven't tried yet... If you look for a cheap solution then just get a booster.
