1. Sad to let these go, only had the power amp a few days so apologies to the seller... Unfortunately size matters at the moment with no transport. So here we are. The Pre; Ampeg SVT-IIP valve pre-amp. If you have heard or played one of these you will know of the rich and diverse tone it is capable of. I don't think I need to say more than that really. It has had one owner before me, always racked and in really great condition. There is some slight scratching in the pots, nothing unusal, but no other issues to be spoken of. Even includes original instructions. For more info see here http://www.ampeg.com/pdf/SVTIIP.pdf The power amp; This is a 1u power amp from Stewart Audio, may as well be new, perfect condition, and for the little amount I have used it has been great. It is a stereo amp, convection cooled with no fan (super quiet) but also super loud at 700w 8ohms bridged. Put two cabs at 4ohms and you have a monster. The downside to this unit is that it is a US product, so needs a step down converter. These can fit into the back of the rack case (included) and you wouldn't know it was there. More info on the amp here http://www.stewartaudio.com/world_1_2.php Together these make a great pair, they are a one hand lift, powerful and with a great tone. You can't go wrong. I don't really want to split these. So with this in mind here is what I would be interested in; £500 cash collected from south london (or plus postage) Trade/part-ex with a smaller unit, markbass, shuttle, tc electronics Please no silly offers or bass exchanges, any questions welcome, thanks
2. maybe I will! pm'd
3.
Boss OC-2 + a low-pass envelope filter (or maybe a Bassballs actually). A Bass Micro Synth might get you somewhere near (the filter controls would be good to have) but the OC-2 will give you that square-wavey tone to begin with.
thanks! I used to have a microsynth, loved it but shame you have to fiddle with sliders between tunes. Unless I had 6 microsynths? and a trolley to carry them in. will look at the oc-2 as well
4. New release from Caribou, this track 'Odessa' is great in many ways, one definately being the bass line. How to mimic that late attack, chunky bounce? Listen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq_tDOFU5tY I have been mulling over some synth pedals with this sort of warm character for a while, hoping to get a markbass supersynth soon. Any other ideas how this could be replicated?
5. worth mentioning that I have the instructions for this too - contains some useful eqing tips and tricks for a range of instruments and some blank eq templates. also has a nice freq spectrum chart in the back

11. Hello all, I put this up a few months back and well, here she is again! Not fitting great into my folky project unfortunately. It really is a great little mex and has always played beautifully with a very nice neck. I replaced the scratchplate to an antiquey looking off white/duck egg colour which is very fetching and also replaced the bridge for a gotoh style number. Other than this it is all original. I also copper lined the cavity, so this bass is super clean and quiet now with no buzzing. It could do with a new set of strings and a set up - intonation is fine but the action could be lowered slightly, other than that there are no playing faults. There are a few blemishes and marks to the bass - not very noticeable unless up close. There are these black marks that it has picked up from somewhere around the edges of the paintwork and on one corner of the bass (pictured). it used to have a few stickers so that probably came from there. There is also two little knocks where the paintwork has cracked, one of them pictured below. Other than that there is a bit of buckle rash on the back, but that's it. I think all of this just adds to the character of this bass though - it still looks pretty fresh. I would really like to swap/trade for a jazz or similar Any questions please ask - I live in south london and would prefer pick up, but can possibly meet PRICE DIVE TO £200!!
12. Hey folks, Recently acquired this but have no real need for it so will be shifting it from here hopefully. These seem fairly hard to come by, but offers an accurate and easy to use eq. Used mainly in studios - this would be better at 'Q'ing your sound than a graphic EQ, with freq, cut/boost and Q control. I have found it really cool alongside my pre- as I said very accurate and can eliminate hum without ruining the texture of the sound, or boosting frequencies slightly to fill a mix better. This bad boy only takes up 1u rack space and is 10cms deep. Plus it barely weighs anything. Condition wise it is good - some slight rack rash, and the plastic is peeling off the front end a bit. Also a couple of the knobs make a slight scratching but I am sure this would be easy to fix. Input - Balanced Output Unbalance both 1/4 " jack. 23. thanks dood, looks very interesting, although you are right - bit bigger than I can manage for the moment! JMT was looking at a powersoft amp, but the price!!!! I was hoping there would be a cheap solution, might just have to put the pre-amp into a combo, what a waste...
24. So I would love the simplicity of teaming up my pre with a powered cab that literally just has a volume control... Does this exist in a lightweight and manageable form that is inexpensive? I don't ask much!
25. Just leaving a brief but shiningly positive feedback for Gaz... Bought a Fender Jag from him this week, arrived within the week after splendid communication throughout - and the bass is amazing! The condition is superb as he described and he has included a great case too. I wouldn't hesitate a second to trade with him again Thanks
