3.
I think you have to state a price rather than offers.
I'm honestly not sure what to ask for them
  4. Hey everyone My name is mark and im from Glasgow, this is my first time on a forum and ive found it to be rather addictive... if its not all the gear porn its all the stuff i wanna buy that people are selling lol I play a conklin GT-7 through an eden navigator and a mesa powerhouse 4x12. I`ve been playing bass for around 7 years now and tbh it wasn`t my first choice, i wanted to be a drummer in school and couldnt get lessons, so i then wanted guitar lessons and couldn`t get any either.... so i got landed with bass and i haven`t looked back. Nice to meet you all Mark

  6.
I've had a gt7 for a few years now. Great basses. Had similar frustrations with the electronics. Have changed the pre to an Artec 3 band with sweepable mids, opened up the sound no end. Still debating putting an acg filter in at some point. The pickups are fine imo and very hot once rid of the stock preamp. Also had to change blend pot on artec to a 25k. Hope you get the bass sounding how you like. Pete.
thats nice to hear, is there any chance you could record some audio clips? it would be much appreciated thanks
  7.
Link to those Kent Armstrong pickup clips? Sounds like a nice "mod" diary! Any chance of any sound clips now for a before and after? I'll be keeping a close eye on this!
sounds clips eh? i would have no idea on what to play but i guess it is a good idea, maybe even do a video too....
  8.
Nice bass. Are you sure a Kent Armstrong pickup is going to be much of an improvement over bartolinis?
well the bartolinis i have just now are active and as of late i`ve realised bartolini isn`t the sound im wanting ive heard some clips of the kent armstrongs pups (which are passive) wired without an internal preamp and on their own they sound ridiculously good ill stick up some pics of the bass before i start drilling etc thanks
  9. Hey everyone This is my first actual proper post on the forum... I own a Conklin Gt-7 and as much as i love the bass ive found that its sound is... well... dull and boring. But what else can you expect with a mighty mite preamp and active bartolini pickups so ive decided to upgrade the pickups and preamp in the hope that i can acheive a better sound. After contacting several companies in the uk to make a custom set of pickups that will fit in the bass, which wasnt soo easy as the current pickups are P4 sized which are usually found on 5 or 6 string basses. Kent Armstrong pickups have said they can make me a set which i have ordered. Ive also choosen to go with an Audere 3ZB preamp which i already have, so im just waiting on the pickups being made and delivered. Ill Keep This Updated For anyone whos interested in how this goes. *edit* here some before pics: and the controls for the new preamp will be: master volume tonecontrol pickup 1 volume pickup 2 volume bass EQ treple EQ mid EQ Mid selector switch z mode switch *edit* so the pickups arrived and here are some picks of how i got on: ill consider doing some recordings if anyone is interested
  10.
I was gonna buy it! But i have no money, and i'd rather have a GTBD-7 / Get a custom built 7 He hasn't been on in a while, but there are some sound clips up somewhere, though they may have been taken down?
i actually found an audio clip and the bottom of this thread he posted http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry131541
  11.
Well 3 years on quite a bit haha, He did it all, and then put it up for sale a few months ago, not sure if it sold or not and i think i may have been de-fretted? Or someone suggested he try that anyway! Try a search as it was up for sale! +1 haha! Edit: There you go, as i'm such a nice guy http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=Conklin
thanks alot man, nice to see it went well, would love to hear how it sounded and see it in action but oh well thanks

  14.
Thanks for the heads up man! BTGAndys GTBD-7 sold for Approx. £850 and Manudepaz's GTBD-7 in spain is selling for £950 incl shipping. Both are natural though :/ haha Only issue i have with the GT-7 is that its active, where as the GTBD is has passive pickups (and an active pre-amp) and is neck through which are two of my favourite things for me
i own a GT-7 and im currently in the process of replacing the pickups and preamp, and getting passive pickups made for a 7 string bass to fit in a P4 shell size with 16mm string spacing is harder than you would think, so now all i need is money to afford the pickups

  16. hey there everyone im replacing the mighty mite preamp in my bass but the pickups i have a re active barts i have no idea what preamps work with active pups as all the good ones i know of like aguilar, nordstrand and audere work with only passive pups... or at least thats what im sure of thanks in advance for your help
  17. The unit is in full working order and good condition, bar basic wear and the residue of having been installed previously. The only thing missing is the battery clip as I use a battery compartment in my bass. I can't find the instructions but they are all available easily on the web or from audere. The unit will come well packaged in a box with padding. Configuration: Stacked black knobs for Master Vol / Passive Tone Stacked black knobs for Pickup 1 Vol / Pickup 2 Vol Stacked black knobs for Bass and Treble EQ Single black knob for Mid EQ 3 way switch for Mid EQ centre frequency (200/500/800 Hz) 3 way switch for preamp Z-mode (changes impedance balance for pickups, changing the tone and gain) Blue mini LED which can show through small hole in bass body to display preamp state or battery warnings Standard 1/4" jack bass cable input. Settings for the Z-mode tolerances are made via tiny jewellers screwdriver (not included) sized adjusters on the top of the unit. People love these preamps, and there are lots of good reviews online, e.g. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=1723 You can find more info and specs here: http://www.audereaudio.com/3ZB.htm Im Asking for £100 for the unit and £5 for Delivery
