1. Thing of a beauty. Love it!
2. I have a mighty fine lefty Fender style neck that screams "put me into a Jag body". I was about to post a "wanted" thread with a request for Jag bass body, but now I feel tempted to buy this... Would sell the electronics and put a EB-3 pickup set.
3.
No apologies needed There's nothing stopping you ordering, I believe postage to Poland & many other corners of the world are very reasonable - not saying you live in a corner like
Was pretty p*ssed when I ordered a chrome bridge cover for my Telecaster Bass from a Basschatter and it got lost in the transfer, never to be seen again - was not ordering anything from abroad since. But your kits are pretty cool solution for me I'll PM you soon with an inquiry.
4. Oh, my mistake, if it's 100% solderless, than you should go ahead and do it yourself.
(...)
My sincere apologies to KiOgon for underestimating the awesomeness of his kit, I just knew, as a Polish guy, that I couldn't order one, so I never got into details not to be tempted
5. This may be the infamous Hydra Guitar. It once had one neck and someone decided to break it mid concert, Townshend-style. He threw the guitar away, but it grew a second neck already in the waste bin... You know the rest of the story.
6. I'd tell you to rather let the pros do it. I suck at soldering, too, and I always mess even the easiest things up - even if it works at first, the solders break at random moments, not to mention they luck ugly and untidy. Find a decent bloke who'd help you out. It's better to do things just once, but solidly.
7. Another science example - or at least a "pop-science" one: Low frequency sounds (and I mean LOW, way below our hearing) can cause anxiety and nauseate a person. That's a quite common explanation for "hauntings" and stuff like that occurring in the abandoned tunnels and other structures: sound at super low frequency level in the piping and other elements of the surrounding is sensed somehow by our brains and causes the feeling of discomfort or OHMYGOD SOMEONE'S WATCHING ME! Maybe the sound frequencies from the specific moments of songs are in the same key as the nauseating sound, but few octaves up and they resonate with the low frequency background "noise" or something?
8. I listen to nearly any kind of music. I'm rather snobbish when it comes to some more non-mainstream stuff - I sometimes consider it as "too good for most" My sweetheart, on the other hand.... she's a snob. Never would she listen to hip-hop, it's even hard to convince her to some rock stuff I like. At least she likes many bands as much as I do, like Judas Priest, AC/DC or ZZ Top, but still...
9. Oh, I thought the topic is on my recent gain of weight, but all I see is perfectly normal, typical VOX bass
10.
What do you do with the two outputs? Does the synth go to foh and the od amp?
I was experimenting with sending signal to other effects and to both inputs of my combo. It actually works really nice as the difference of the input levels on those inputs balances the effects more.
Is the polish love discontinued? or does it have another name? i cant seem to find much on it except a few demos on bass (the opposite problem i usually have >.>)…
The guy who builds it was making those at request, I ain't sure if he still does it. If stuff like Pigtronix are "boutique" effects, Polish Love is more like a "grandma's threaded" stuff. Polish Loves are frequently reappearing at the used effect markets in Poland. The effect is know either as Polish Love or Helter Skelter. Basically, it's a simple overdrive that boosts the sound equally, without killing most of the harmonics. Left knob is "drive", right is "volume". The switch disables the drive knob, making the effect go +10% more drive then full overdrive. Drive pot varies from nearly clean to harsh overdriven sound. Not a 100% valve emulation, but has some valve-ish warmth. Volume pot set on 9:00 gives volume level similar to bypassed effect in my case.
11. As for now, these two are everything I use. Digitech Bass Synth Wah + Polish Love Overdrive. Pretty nice couple.
12. Nice touch with envelope filter for bass in stoner/doom. Sounds surprisingly great.
13. Kyuss, Orange Goblin, Corrosion of Conformity, Sleep and, above all, Om. Also, refreshing Black Sabbath, ZZ TOP and AC/DC.
14.
What he said, although having said that I only ever buy secondhand stuff, apart from strings and cables - so most of my basses and pedals and cabs etc etc already have a certain amount of previous abuse to report anyway.
Yeah, same here usually The best thing about used gear is the fact that the first scratch/ding is already there, so it won't hurt that much
15. I wholeheartedly prefer to scratch, ding and blemish my basses by myself, thank you, sir.
16. If it is right handed, it's a genuine Jenquer bass, a real rarity Seriously though, it's a decent price for a Fender, is it Mexican?
17. Dig deeper, the Ark of the Covenant gotta be somewhere near...
18. I'm GASing for Digitech Synth Wah and, like, what the hell? Everybody tries to sell this thing, arguing that they find no purpose for it, but I feel it'd be a nice asset for me
19. Man, I love that tool. Pretty straightforward and no-nonsense. Coil select 3-position switch, volume pot, tone pot.
20. This may seem obvious and a form of excuse, but, good grief, some gear just LOOKS mighty fine and you want it because you want to look at it with pride and joy. Other than that, GAS comes from compensation of unfulfilled needs and/or lack of actual practice, like many wise Basschaters above mentioned.
21.
Here's my L1000 with added pickguard. I've added some fake screws since the photo was taken (and the correct knobs). I had it made to my template at Sims custom shop.
THIS!
22. Pickup wiring is like in Strat with 1 Vol and 1 Tone. and chickenhead knob works as a 5-way selector switch on Strat.
23.
I think it looks good on my Tele:
And I think your Tele would look good in my room Thing of a beauty!
24. The thing that is more than proper. I guess 'purty' is the word?
25. Ta-dah! Two rail spilts, two volumes, two tones, S/P switch and jack.
