4.
Hi , It seems that the préamp is from Audere and not from John East .
No its definately John East. Audere dont make a J style plate which is slightly curved to fit the Lakland Darryl Jones. They only make the straight J plate to fit Fender style preamps. How do I know? Because I ordered one from Audere and had to send it back !!!

A Lakland Darryl Jones Skyline Series 4 string bass in black with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard. This bass has been professionally fitted with a John East Pre Amp, (the cavity and back of scratchplate have been copper lined so its noise free!). There is also a choice of scratchplates included in the price, one white pearlescent, the other black/grey pearlescent, and I will include the original plain white scratchplate and the original switchgear too, if ever you wanted to return it to its original spec. Its been fitted with a set of La Bella flatwounds, which sound superb, and as you can see from the pictures this bass is in fantastic condition. I am putting it up for sale on Basschat first, and then it will go to FleaBay. I would much prefer someone off this site buy it though. The John East pre amp is not cheap but allows the player to dial in almost any sound. This bass is a killer for playing slap, and with the La Bella's is super fast along the fretboard. I am looking for £800 cash and I will throw in a soft gig bag too. Collection only from Surrey. Cheers, T le B.
 7. Get yourself one of these........Zoom B2 .......plug in some headphones and you have a multi effects pedal with drum machine and tuner, that you can also take to rehearsals and plug straight into your cabinet with some 50 preset effects and another 40 odd channels to come up with your own! Sarweeeeeeet!
 8. £263!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done, but it just goes to show how mental Ebay is! Its not just a 'Muppet' that sold it! If you get my drift.
 9. I have just tested the TC Electronics Rebel Head 450, through one of their 210 cabs, as I too was in the market for a rig. Read all the reviews and watched the demos on You Tube. Went to my local dealers and tried my bass through it. Not bad, very clean, but thick and 'heavy thump', is the best I can describe the sound, I was impressed with the features as I was looking to minimalise my current rig, and having a tuner built in with three presets was great news. All this wrapped up in a neat small bundle, superb. That was until I tried my bass, (a Lakland Darryl Jones sig 4) through a Little Mark II and a Little Mark 210,wow! Such clarity, almost bell like. The sound from each string had real definition but there still remained depth of field to the sound. Once I compared the two back to back, there was simply no contest, for me that is. All I can suggest is go and try your bass in the same test. After all its down to what you want to hear from your bass that counts, what is good for me is not necessarily good for the next person. The TC Electronics gear has some great features, and shouldnt be discounted by any means. Good luck with your search. T le B

 17. Okay, time to release some capital and sell my beloved EBS rig. I have decided to offer it on here first before it goes on Ebay. This is a fantastic set up. EBS TD650 Proffessional tube definition head, with a EBS 2x12 4ohm 600w Pro Neodymium cabinet. A Korg DTR1000 rack mounted tuner, all wrapped up in a 4 rack Gator case. This amp I have owned from new, and as with all my gear I look after it, which is why it is in such superb condition. You really dont need much more than this for pretty much any gig. (unless your playing Wembley Stadium ) The cabinet is light you can pick it up with one hand. The head sound can be moulded to any genre of music, jazz, funk, soul, R&B, rock; you name it and just dial it in. This is a versatile, compact rig that will cope easily with, and cut through any drummer or guitarist on steroids. 19.
Thanks Delberthot, The only lug I see that appears to have solder on but no wire attached is the jack plug, but that already has a black and green wire attached, would the jack plug have two black wires attached??
Solved! Crackle free bass again! It was indeed an earth wire that had come unsoldered from the jack plug, thanks again. T le B.
 20.
A black wire is normally an earth - is there anywhere on the back of one of the pots with solder but nothing attached? Try playing a note with it plugged in and while the note is ringing, touch the black wire against the back of one of the pots - any one will do. If that solves it then that's your problem.
Thanks Delberthot, The only lug I see that appears to have solder on but no wire attached is the jack plug, but that already has a black and green wire attached, would the jack plug have two black wires attached??
 21. A loud 'crackling' noise is coming from my amp when I play my Lakland J Bass. This only happens when I play directly above the neck pickup. If I play above the bridge pickup or next to the neck itself, there is no noise. If I press on the poles of the neck pickup with my finger a 'humming' sound emanates, this does not happen on the bridge pickup. Also on removing the bell plate to check the wiring, all seems OK apart from a single black wire which is not attached to anything, just laying loose in the bottom of the routed compartment. Questions: 1) Is my neck pickup knackered? 2) Should the black wire be hooked up, and it is this that is causing the interference? All replies gratefully received.
 22. Not long to go for a real bargain Ebay Link This is worse than waiting for your first child!
