    Harrisons? Do tell...

I ask this as someone who, as we speak, has a bass on it's way back to Denmark Street for a refund and you've now got me worried!

    Rose Morris btw.

(The '65 P is also in transit on it's way to Andy Baxter - quite the nerve wracking weekend all in!)

Not sure why you'd want to touch this for £10k when for only £1,200 more you could buy that refin that Mr Dream On picked up for £3800 at auction a week prior.

I noticed he'd also bought a couple of Gibson Les Pauls in the same auction and was trying the same trick with them.

I think it's less of a trick and more of a fun way to make a living. No doubt it's a cool game to play. I've got the knowledge, I just wish I had the funds behind me to do the same and put that knowledge to good use!

  3. Just a thought... I wonder if simply selling what would be the CD cover (nicely done) on card with a download code on it might work better these days. It would cut your costs and enable you to sell them cheaper therefore probably selling more.

Plus anyone who buys one will always have your music on them (phone) to play for their friends if they really like you, spreading the word.

I don't even own a CD player anymore and don't know anyone else who does either...

Not sure if it’s money laundering just wishful thinking hoping someone takes a liking to it

It does have the make an offer option though. I'm sure he'll have a price in his head that he would really let it go for, listing it sky high will certainly keep the low ballers from wasting his time.

There might be someone out there who gets it for 10Gs thinking they've won and done a good deal 🤷

  5. Well, unfortunately I'm experiencing the downside of owning a vintage Fender... it's a lot of money tied up in a luxury plaything, so when real life intervenes (need building work doing on the family home), it's hard to otherwise justify struggling unnecessarily.

I've had a year with my dream bass at least - the '65 P bass

Packing it up to send to Andy Baxter to deal with so I can avoid the ballache of trying to sell such a thing from home.

    It's a sad day...

It amazes me why a seller puts a vintage precision up for sale without giving it a good clean, I spent about an hour today and the difference is day and night all DNAremoved IMG_20230306_173532.thumb.jpg.99237fea3240db497194519c8994e305.jpgIMG_20230306_173615.thumb.jpg.20f287edadb788adccf34184d96a0262.jpgIMG20230306173911.thumb.jpg.fce668a8eb372123e8d9faa2d4bdd521.jpg

Mine was similar...when I swapped pickguards I had to move the pickups slightly (it was a generic P bass pickguard I was fitting) and was able to better align the strings betwen the magnets. Not sure it made any tonal difference though! Great bass and glad you're enjoying yours.

The pickup alignment issue was the only thing that put me off buying one. Seems they're all like that. The first run Profiles had closed covers so it wasn't noticeable.

Did you find that the generic P bass pickguard fitted perfectly or was there some fettling needed?
