I’ve had a couple of dodgy Fender leads for a couple of years. Finally got round the fixing one with my new soldering iron. The other had moulded jacks so no luck there. Got talking with a guitarist and he told me that they had lifetime guarantees. I gave their customer services a call quick, who asked me to email me in my info and a photo of the lead with the jacks cut off. Did it straightaway and within an hour they had replied and said a replacement lead is on its way. Assuming everything goes to plan, well done Fender. Great Customer service!!!

Might be worth rooting around in your old gig bags.

I have 3 passive P basses. One has TI flats, another has TRU 88 black nylon tape wounds and the other has round wounds. Always good to have choice depending on your mood and the band situation. 

Now just £50 inc postage.

I’ve played bass for about 35 years now (off and on). Yes we are generally the unsung heroes/glue that keeps it all together/insert cliche of your choice here but it’s up to you decide who you are and how you play your instrument. I’m quite a busy player. Reflects my personality. Fast thinker and talker. Playing slow blues is like water torture to me so guess what, I don’t do it. I’m a bad fit for that. You have to find the style and group members that fit you best. Over the last 6 months or so of gigging I’m getting let’s of great compliments and lots more opportunities. I recently spent ages practicing really hard for a function band. Surprisingly (to my ego) I didn’t get it. But after a few days I realised I dodged a bullet because musically it wasn’t quite right and I’m a bit marmity and I’m guessing they don’t like savoury spread. 😂

Won’t be here long!

So it was my big boy 50th birthday this year and thought I would put together a decent bass as I couldn’t afford a 1980 walnut precision special (£3000) and didn’t feel confident enough skill wise that a self build course would give me the quality instrument I wanted. So I decided to put together a tribute, rather than a copy of said bass. 
I asked Walshy to build me a custom body (which in the end never happened), so in the end I bought one he had made previously from Chris/beedster. 
The neck is a roasted maple jazz neck with chrome hipshot tuners. The pickup is a fender custom shop 62 precision pick up going through a Kiogon cloth wired cts, top of the range loom. Currently has a fender bbot bridge but I have got a hipshot A style bridge to go on it a later date (possibly, but I quite like the look of this one). These parts were all bought from people off of BC. 
Needs a pro set up but even now sounds great to me. Think she might be a keeper.

I replaced an Orange Terror bass for a Mark Bass Randy Jackson TTE 500. Looked lovely, very loud but no grit. The Orange Terror had loads of drive. 😢

Up for sale are these amazing EMG active P pickups. I bought them off BC but never installed them as the custom body I commissioned (with a battery compartment) never got finished so I bought another body instead. However, I didn’t want to ruin/devalue the beautiful walnut body so have decided to go the passive route and have bought some Fender CS 62’s instead. IMHO these EMGs are the best bass pickups. In fantastic condition with all the wiring loom, socket, boxes and installation diagrams. It’s the simple EMG solderless click on technology.
