Lovely bass but for some reason G&L's are not that popular here in the UK
Why? I don't know.
I have a few and with the passive bypass many are great basses.
This is why your bass has'nt sold - I beg to suggest
To my mind, people have a real problem, that is... living with fender and musicman and thats it ! G&L surpass both, sure you can have a pop at the eye gouger headstock, but these are well engineered basses with years of heritage attached to them, any bass and especially the hi end boutique bass have ugly bits, wals arnt that beautiful, except in the eye of the beholder for instance, but these are still leo and georges best kept secret.
rant over. -
not many bass friendly effects patches though...
Theres amp modelling, chorus, delay, compressor etc, thats been plenty for me, just as a point on the sd memory cards I put a 1 gig in, that has been plenty enough for me to be bored shitless with my own playing. -
It has an mp3 mode, you can convert multitrack recordings in it to mp3, put mp3's on it and record directly or via mic in mp3 mode, its a good little tool, lots of drums too.

Cant you put some teeth in it ?

Bump, ive got one, high end spec from leos best.
-
porn bump, my fave colour/ neck combination...

Nice one TimR another valued point well raised, but I guess its the moog analogue kudos !

Had a set of taurus 1 in the 80's, I took these bad pics last night on a gig, I use midi pedals and a roland expander, does the same job, saves you 800 quid.

Hi, A fairly helpful 3 bolt micro tilt set up guide for G&L, I guess fender / mm wouldnt be a million miles away from this spec.
I buy new strings. Am I missing something??
+1 they aint that dear, new ones havnt suffered tuned tension for a long period either so feel good too. whats the point of boiling strings, unless mum and dad are paying for the leccy or gas to do it ! I tried this 25 years ago, shagged strings are shagged strings. -
Hi Bumnote, ive got some wiring diagrams too and if you ever want to sell it give me a pm as Im partial to the odd g&l...
-
Hi Is it a 2000e on the headstock, the early front loaders are pretty much the same as the latter ones, is it ok in passive mode ? Ive got a few spares and a spare chip as that may be faulty.

Who owns Gordy and Gordon Smith basses?

When I worked im music shop retail in the mid 80's Keith Hand who went on to run the shop doctor rock, which is still there but sadly I believe Keith has passed on, was part of gordon smith, we stocked gordon smith guitard and he brought in a red and blue shift bass, he was having these built after splitting from gordon smith, I remembered they had a stingray profile neck and were a well built bass, subsequently I went on the hunt for one and got the one in the photo off e bay, it may even be that one ! its a great little bass especially as it has passive soapbars, I will get it out and put up a shot.
