Mine is a '77 P bass - a Yamaha Pulser 400. And brilliant it is too!
-
I'll take it! PM incoming!
-
Haven't quite got the package right have they...
-
If they posted I'd be having that for the parts. Anybody seen what original T40 hardware sells for?
-
Haven't done it myself, but asked Alex at Barefaced the same question a few years back and he thought it would work really well. In the end I decided I wouldn't be looking for much other than the "emulated" tone, so went with something closer to that with a Two10 and Orange Terror!

Darkglass don't do digital.

Finally put something back together after having everything in bits for ages -

It's probably been asked before but... what is it all? -
One and only bump this is getting. Will consider an outright sale at this point with a little saving over a brand new unit, otherwise it's staying here.

Sorry, Bigwan, I beat you to it!

Thought so! Enjoy! I already have one, but they're good enough that you could live with 2! Useless piece of info - it was my prompting that got Lee at Fuzzdog to redo the PCB for the boutique version! -
If this isn't gone I'll take it!

There's an old Talkbass thread on a couple of my 6SL7/6SN7 builds: https://www.talkbass...5/#post-4388452
Some of the pics have gone missing in the thread due to the TB software changeover after I posted them but I can probably scare them up if anyone is interested. JGR is a good friend of mine and it's well worth gleaning what you can from his posts over there too. I opted for an active bass and mid format, closer to the Jule Monique's approach than the Ampeg thing.
I don't know much about Monique. Do you know what topology Jule uses for the midrange control? Similarly I'm clueless about his sensitivity control. I'd assumed it was just a simple gain, but reading between the lines there seems to be something else going on there.
What topology did you use for your midrange control? Is it similar to this: http://www.angelfire.com/electronic/funwithtubes/images/Amp-Tone-7-A-A.gif
I can't see any pics from early in that thread unfortunately, although I've read it at some point in the dim and distant! -

My build will essentially be a B15 preamp, followed by the midrange stage and an AC cathode follower on the output.
Pretty much what I'd arrived at and tried to model in LTSpice. My midrange was more like a steve bench eq section though. When I tried more than one midrange control LTSpice didn't like it, but it was probably user error! -
I've most of the parts for a similar build just waiting for me to free up enough time to start building.
I digested quite a bit over on the other forum, particularly from username JGR, who builds under the name Reiner Amplification. His bass preamp has an inductor midrange, based on the Ampeg V9 topology, probably similar to the V4 going by your description. His earliest designs had lower and upper midrange controls using wah inductors!
In the end up I decided to start with the B15n pre, simple as it may be, but add a sweep control to the tonestack, a la Arkham Zephyr http://arkhamsound.com/zephyr.html
I can always revisit later and add an inductor midrange. I have a multi-tap carnhill inductor at the ready! -
Thomann site was saying they had stock today. Maybe time to cancel Kev...
Edit: sorry, just checked again. 11th May now... -
Price updated: £750
With my current hearing woes (nothing too serious, just enough to make me think!) I'm reconsidering the direction of recent equipment purchases and going in-ear. I may change my mind on this as the amp could serve perfectly well and offer more flexibility, but here goes.
I have a virtually new, only out of the box twice, Darkglass M900. Everything you've heard is true. These are stunning amps.
Not really interested in an outright cash sale, but would consider trades plus cash my way for one, or combination of, the following:
Darkglass Vintage Ultra
DSM OmniCabSim deluxe
Behringer XR16, XR18 or similar (Mackie DL1608, etc.)
Line 6 Helix or Helix LT
Tech21 VTDI or VT Deluxe
Afraid I'm not interested in other amps or pedals, just components to put together an IEM rig.
Or £750
Cheers

Always jealous that other folks own these and I don't... yet! -

I`ve massively over-spent recently, so am now having a clear-out.

I'm in exactly the same boat (since February I've bought a 2nd ACG, an Orange Terror Bass, a Darkglass M900 and rebought my Barefaced Two10)... Having said that I've never been happier with my gear! -
Just popped a set of Bart 9w5's in the post to you Alex!
-
I've the M900 and Two10. Not played it outside the house yet, but it sounds mighty good to me!

Barefaced SC or Two10 with Darkglass M900 ?

Yup there have been a couple of M900s appearing in the FS section recently, which is a little surprising given the rave reviews they seem to have had and so soon after release? Perhaps not quite the amp head folk were expecting?
I wouldn't jump too quickly to that conclusion. Mine was one of them. The head was everything I expected, and quite a bit more. I've been pretty critical of Darkglass pedals in the past (and have had folks claim that if I didn't like them I wasn't using them right... Ahem...).
But alas my ears are shagged. My hearing drops like a stone above 3khz, I have constant tinnitus ("Screech!" at about 7.7khz) and 2 weeks after buying the amp I got a nasty inner ear infection and further (hopefully temporary) hearing loss in my left ear. That's made me re-evaluate a few things.
So in-ears it is. I may have a Darkglass Vintage Ultra in my immediate future, although it not having the tone control in the drive section might be an issue for me given my previous experience. I'm hoping Doug revises the Ultra series with the tone control added. I can live without all the switches. That control is the master stroke on the M900. Such an awesome amp...
For similar reasons I'll probably be parting with my recently reacquired Two10 as well at some point. I'll keep the Ashdowns for the punters and bandmates who can't tell the difference...
