This is a really hard track to nail at full tilt,i find if i use use the very tips of my fingers its easier, the finger strength of norman watt roy must be well strong. Again well done zoe i have quite small hands(spindly like e.t.) for a bloke so i can imagine for a female to play it,it must be double tough.
noo not the small hands excuse! lol i do have small hands, guess you just adapt i mean.. look at Tal Wilkenfeld.. shes tiny bless her, but AMAZING! Z x edit.. typo!
 2.
nevermind< I'm after 6hours of playing, But some people are just so funny
Hmm.. some people make me laugh too... Z
 3.
I'd be chuffed to bits if I thought I could even attempt this one. So credit where credit is due, BRILLIANT. I've listened to the other stuff on your page and as I said before your damn good. I'd ignore the stupid comments, they prob got their fingers trapped in a door or somthing. I think most of us would notice that you're skilled enough to know where you need to 'improve'. Although I didn't notice any errors. Keep on keeping on!
aw thankyou! Theres definitely errors, but thats alright, its all a learning curve Z x
 4.
can't see any that appeal to me particularly. I hate the danelectro longhorn shape, the vox teardrop and the hohner violin for starters!
haha +1 Z x

 10.
Who's to say or to judge what is perfect or not? :/ Personally I thought you did just fine.... but, ultimately, praise or criticism is worthless as long as you, yourself, are happy with your achievement! Life shouldn't be about impressing other people.... it should be about making yourself happy. You go girl!!
well i am happy with it I am just learning right now, I always will be. and its my 'personal best' so far.. so yeah, im happy with that Thanks again Gary Z x
 11.
First off, thats a great recording you've put together there your time feel is top notch! how are you recording? DI'ing from your amp, or going straight into the desk/unit? about the post of it being 'perfect'....it really depends on what you want, wether you want, as you say, a 'perfect' modern studio type recording, or if you want a more raw sound, complete with imperfections. there is no wrong way to record! and theres always a 'point' to it! its amazing how much you can learn about your own playing through recording. good job! ben
Cheers! im just going straight into my mac. with a 1/4" mono to a 1/8" stereo cable. veryy simple haha Z x
 12. he used the aerodyne style P for a while didnt he? didn't realize he used this now Z x
 13.
Pendulum...are they a swing band?
+1 on putting it in the quotes thread Z x
 14.
Zoe, I agree that it's not perfect, but it's a fantastic effort and you should be proud of what you have achieved.
Thanks x
I think, I won't be going into arguing anymore here for now Faith.
For now?? theres nothing to argue about at all, nevermind about 'for now..' hmm.. Z x
 15.
Zoe Just play it and be happy that you've worked it out
That..right there.. is EXACTLY what this thread was meant to be about Z x
 16. They've really shot up in price over the past few years. you used to be able to get a real nice 2nd hand one for £700.. what they going for now?? Z x
 17.
Hon, it's an achievement for anyone. As for you Faith, why not show her how it should be done? Post your version - in a new thread - played over the original at song tempo. 48 hrs long enough to record it and get it up?
But remember.. it has to be perfect.. or theres no point..apparently............. Z x
 18.
Windows Media Player has a speed control if you have it in MP3...
im on a mac.. you can probably do it in garageband.. but ah well Z x

 20.
Now, at the end, question exactly to Zoe: Can you tell, what was the point recording a song in such tempo (where you can't properly play it at the moment, as we see..), when you could've done it a bit slower (10% or somethin' like that..) and make it with hardly any fluffs? Was it a simple rush or anything else? The interesting fact is, that you will never ever nail any tune properly, if you rush it with tempo. I quit for now, Faith.
I do understand what you're saying. but... 1: i was just excited that i could play it like i can, that is an achievement for me. that is all! I know i struggle with it, but i wasnt posting it as a 'final - mastered version' or anything of the sort. its simply, just me, having a little bit of fun. And 2: I dont know how to slow a song down, unless im using my Tascam trainer. It was just a bit of fun. Z x
 21.
fnar fnar again You set 'em up Zoe ..
23.
Sorry, didn't mean to scare you off! I'm not terribly sure about the PRS / rights stuff, which is why I posted asking for others' views, so please don't take my word as in any sense authoritative on this.
aw no it didnt. i wasn't on about the PRS thing when i said that
Yeah, same here, I have a couple of vids of me playing along to Rush and Zappa, have had for a while. There is loads of it out there untouched. They only took the direct rips, file sharing stuff off there I believe.
and awesome, could you send me a link? x
 24.
I wouldn't worry about it. The purpose is to demonstrate you can play along with it. If Youtube haven't taken stuff like this down, don't worry.
yeah i've been ok with youtube so far. and theres covers on there. Z x
