Thanks -
Waiting for someone to give me some measurements for a Mex P-bass scratchplate. Going to go with a clear perspex one. Going to route out a battery box this weekend. Been distracted with an old Hagstrom bass needing restoration, and also actually been trying to play more recently than build/repair.

Sounds like a metric/imperial disagreement.

T-Cut is the stuff to have!

OK, found the schematics.

Welcome to the forum.

A work colleague asked me to see if I could resurrect this poor old Hagstrom. The pics say it all:
The electronics have all been ripped out, the pickup(s) are wired straight to a horrible homemade output socket.
Does anyone here have any knowledge of these basses? What is it? I think it's an H-IIB. How old is it? The serial number is 678047. Anyone got schematics? In any case, I'll keep you updated on the progress of this project.
Wish me luck! -
Let's go back to the days of cutting thieves hands off. Good deterrent, and it'll make their typo-ridden ebay descriptions easier to spot too

No Mex P-bass owners with easy access to a ruler/measuring tape?
I reported this to ebay yesterday as a scam auction. I even gave them the item numbers of scam auctions where this picture had been used in the past - and they still haven't pulled the auction.

I'm not surprised - they didn't do anything about the Takamine acoustic scam I posted about a couple of weeks ago. They had the whole day. -
Thanks for that. Any Mex P-bass owner like to offer their measurements for comparison? The measurements specified above, that is

Hi helpful basschatters
Could some people out there with either a Mex or a USA Fender 4 string P Bass do some measuring for me? I'd like to know the following dimensions:
1. End of the neck to edge of pickup nearest the neck
2. Edge of pickup nearest the bridge to the end of the scratchplate
3. Bottom edge of the scratchplate to the bridge screws
4. Centre of the bridge screw treble side to the tip of the scratchplate (output jack part)
Just need to check some things before ordering a scratchplate. Please tell me if it's USA or Mex you've got.
Thanks

The sellers are rarely mad. -

He's sold 15 things, all ended on 9th August. If he's a newbie, maybe he's taking a bit of time to get everything together? I take it you've tried to make contact a few times? Also, 10 days isn't really a lot of time in the eBay scheme of things... I'd suggest you're maybe jumping the gun a little here?
neep, I trust that your purchase was OK and that the fraudulent listing was using the original seller's photo. Have you let the original seller know, so he/she can complain to Ebay as well? Not that it'll do any bleedin' good.
I did let the seller know, and I know that it won't do much good. -
Well, eBay had 9 hours to do something and they didn't/couldn't/wouldn't. So someone'll be out £206.02 if they decide to send cash/bank transfer/western union or whatever the scamming git asks for.
Disgusting. -

Want to know how I know?

I just bought this one. That's how I know.
It's been reported. But stay away in any case. -
My gf's only stipulation is that I play them all from time to time - "instruments are meant to be played", I quote.
They could do with adding the missing pages from their website.
I got a bit fed up of looking after seeing lots of "under construction" and "404 page not found".
If you have no pictures and no info on a product, don't list it on your website.
Wannabe poseur. More talking done with mouth than fingers. Never gigged. Pretended to play for 4 years. Recently decided that taking the bass out of the bag and practicing more often might be a good idea.
Currently spending more time building/plotting than playing, but once my soon to be ex-flatmate moves out (in 2 weeks), we'll have a spare room which will be set up for musicy goodness. World domination to follow. -
Mmm, I find these strangely compelling. One day when I'm rich and eccentric I might obtain one.
My jack socket

Any loose wires? Maybe try getting the soldering iron out and redoing the jack? Remember that in an active bass, one of the connectors on the stereo jack socket is used to complete the power circuit.
