1. Hi all I have taken the advice by several people and purchased the Zoom B3. Its early days but initially I am delighted with it. Before I purchase a foot switch FS01 I have tried a pedal that I have at home ( I think its a keyboard sustain pedal with normal mono type jack) This pedal does bypass the unit but goes into tuning mode. My question is, does the Zoom FS01 do the same IE bypass and go into tuning mode or does it just bypass?
2. Hi all, I am thinking of getting an effect's processor I have narrowed it down to a Boss 20B or a Zoom B3 which one would you go for and why? Also I need a drum machine (forget the zoom has one built in) and I have narrowed it down to a Boss DR88 or an Alesis SR18. Again which would you go for and why............Looking forward to your help in choosing.
3.
Hey Pete, did you purchase the Rotosound Nexus strings in the end? All I can offer for advice is that if you want warm and mellow then go for flat wound strings, the Rotosound Nexus are advertised to be a good alternative to steel strings so I'm not sure if they would be the best for a warm mellow sound, as roundwound steel strings are known to be quite bright and twangy.
No I did not try the strings, I no longer have this particular bass

6. Hi all, I have a chance to purchase a Hamer bass SFX2 (not quite sure where they get the sunburst from) The trouble is it would be a long distance purchase, so what I would like to know is has anyone played one and more importantly what is the balance like. I have already got a nose dive bass and I dont want another. So any help would be helpfull....................Pete.
7. Hi all, I have just purchased a cheap Epiphnoe EB3 bass, and was wondering about having it converted to a headless bass. Does anyone think that there would be major problems that would stop this project from being a success, would the fact that it is not a bolt on neck or that there is no truss rod mean that this project is a no no?
8.
does it *click* when you go to zero?
No.
9. Hi All, I have a new Epiphone EB3 (purchased off this forum) and have noticed that the volume is really just ON or OFF. There doesn't seem to be a gradual increase or decrease in sound. From turning the volume off I have to be really careful otherwise it comes on full. And from 2 its on full volume with no increase all the way around to 10 any ideas.
10. Hi all, I have an Epiphone EB3 with stock strings and I am thinking of replacing them. Has anyone any ideas of what I should purchase? The sound that I go for is a warm mellow sound, not twangy. Also I will be going through a Boss GT10B would a change in strings make a difference, or is it best to get the required sound that I want via the GT10B. Finally has anyone had any experience of Rotosound Nexus Bass Guitar String Black Polymer Coated. All opinions welcome.................................Thanks Pete.

14. Hi All, I know the forum is full of talk about top notch amps, (i'm not knocking it) But I can only afford a budget combo but then again it is only for bedroom use. So can someone please give me their thoughts on a Peavey max 112 combo against a Laney rb3 combo both have phono inputs and headphone socket which I need. So I would like to know what people think........Thanks.......Pete.
15.
£150 Trace Elliot GP7 SM 150 watts BLX style combo 150 into 8 ohm 1x10 Celestion Driver (can add an 8 ohm external cab to get the full 300 watts) styled on the BLX series but this is much more powerful! these amps go for £150 on their own on eBay as you guys probably are aware! this combo has caster wheels added for convenience and comes with its own vinyl cover pick up from Southend on Sea or can deliver (within reason) for expenses
If ever you are Nottingham way bring it with you, I will have it.......................Pete.

19.
It'd make it sound slightly muted, like old strings with a bit of a woody thump. I've got a set on my Status Groove. They sound great for playing soul/motown stuff (which i do), so dont expect any zing or twang...horses for courses really; just depends what kinda stuff you play. Cheers
Would chrome flats be the opposite, more zingy, you see I have only used round's............................Pete.
20. Hi all, Any ideas what Rotosound black flat wounds would sound like on a Epi EB3?
21. Hi all, I have had a few bass's in the past that take a nose dive and fall forward (away from ones body) which makes for an awkward play. Has anyone done a not too drastic mod that will rectify the problem. I have in the past just moved the strap lock but find that solution a bit of a problem with an EB3 body (not orginal gibbo).....Any ideas Pete.
22.
Remember the Bell catalogues from the 70's, still with the Rapiers! but also with the Ned Callans!
Yep, Bell was Surbiton Surrey I think. A brochure full of Watkins and Hofner gear. My first bass (1967) was from there, a Watkins Rapier in ice blue I also got a Selmer 30watt treble and bass combo from them. And then I purchased a Hofner Violin Bass it cost me 62 gns oh if I had still got it!
23. Hi All I have just seen some nice looking bass's on Ebay under the name of Tuscany. Does anyone know anything about them?...............................Pete.
