1. £280 was a bargain for you Paul!

When I took this to Dave Lunt, he reckoned mine was worth about £500 in the condition it's in, but to be honest, that sounds quite high to me.

For what this cost me, and then the price of the service to have it all double checked, if I had to put a number on mine, it would be £400 I reckon.

Mr. Foxen is welcome to chime in too, cos he will have a better idea I reckon.
Would you like to trade for a Phil Jones M-300 in a hard case?
No thanks, I would be probably avoiding any more amps, unless it was something that really perked my interest, or a Matamp cab. Thanks though :)

  2. So far Björk, Anathallo and Red Sparowes have been some of the best live performances I can remember.

Björk never fails to leave me gob smacked, and with the most recent show, Biophilia, the bass line to the first song is played by a big massive tesla coil! :)

Edited to add some videos -

    Anathallo -

  3. SOLD: ALL GONE! Thanks.

Now up for sale only, no trades (unless its something spectacular :) )

    For sale for -

Big price drop - £350 for one of the best condition Sound City amps I reckon you will see!

So its my Sound City B120 mkIV head, think its from about 1972, its a brilliant condition example of these amps, and has recently been serviced and checked over by Dave Lunt, the recommended amp tech here in Manchester, who said it was probably the best kept Sound City he had seen.

Comes with the original plastic amp cover, and all the valves in it are 6x Mullard EL34's!

I'm gonna take some more pics of it specifically when I'm next in the studio, but heres some pics I already had of it for you to have a peek at (obviously the Ampeg cab isn't included) -

    Cheers.

  4. Here you go then, Musicman Stingray, was my main bass since Dec 1999 till I started with the 5 string earlier this year -

I love it so much that I tried to track down a 5 string in this colour on this forum, but the owner understandably didn't want to part with it... I still want one though. Feel free to offer it to me if you sell one anyone :)

  5. You can usually pick up peavey heads and cabs dirt cheap, built to survive anything from my experience, and can get pretty loud.

To give you an idea, I sold a peavey session bass head on here for £100 not long back, and I saw a thread recently with someone getting a peavey 1x15 cab of eBay for about £40!

  6. Just got this in a trade with Jamie (Bassintheface) just over two weeks ago, and am only putting it up for sale again as I have serious Matamp GAS! I am hoping to get the cash elsewhere and will be able to keep hold of this.

So, lovely Gibson SG bass, 2009 model, bought from new by in March 2010, Short scale, Rosewood fingerboard, Worn Ebony (Matt Black), comes with Gibson hard case.

Small area where the paint has worn off near the pickup, but if you are like me, I think the beauty of this bass will be as the finish wears off to be honest.

    Some pics -

I'm after £500 ono picked up from Manchester.

    Thanks for looking,
    Si.

  7. I've decided I might try to shift some gear to afford to get a Matamp built!

    So...

Here is my Ampeg SVT-3 Pro, in great condition, only one thing of note is that one slider is missing, can be seen in pic, 4th from the right on the EQ.

Comes in a nice shallow 3u sleeved rack case, so it pretty much indestructible in there.

Also comes with a Korg DTR-1 Rack Tuner filling the last gap in the rack case :)

Not in too much of a rush to shift this as I still need to find all the rest of the money before I can get the Matamp ordered.

Looking for £600 ono for the whole lot ideally. Not looking to split, as as long as I have the Ampeg, I wanna keep the tuner with it, looks tidy :)

    Some pics -

    Thanks for looking folks.
    Si.

  8.
I'll have one of them with sprinkles, please!
:) it's bloody lovely, I isn't think anything would peel me away from my Musicman Stingray of almost 12yrs, but this has. Still couldn't do without the Stingray though.

Gonna take pics of that soon.

  9.
Still need your amp specifics, as which you'll use makes a big difference.
Really? How come? Surely speakers for a cab are speakers for a cab, according to the cabs dimensions, regardless of what amp you use?

Excuse me if I'm being thick thinking that... I just don't get it, cos what I use now, may not be what I always use, and I don't plan on changing speakers out to swap amps...

Anyway, my current amps are in my sig - Ampeg SVT-3pro, Sound City b120 mk4 and an Orange Terror Bass 500. I'm sure there will be others in the future...

    Thanks for helping.
