    Whats your budget?

Any decent PA speaker will likely do you better than the majority of those marketed as FRFR cabs.

Not all PA Speaker go low enough Hz do they?

  2. I have a fretted HB, and whilst its loads of fun, I wouldn't trust the tuning and intonation to gig with, but there is a possibility its just the way I play it with these rubbery strings... I would be tempted to pay out for a countryman, but no way for anything over that price for a bit of a fun bass.

  3. They do just need to pull themselves together and sack him if they don't want him.

They might have a hectic touring schedule, but that just means they need to either get you (or someone) to learn stuff, hire a pro dep to keep touring, or cancel some gigs.

They definitely need to stop stringing him along.

  4. It's a shame that this is all being talked ABOUT him rather than to him.

If I was him I'd have left the second people were writing basslines and telling me I wasn't gonna be recording, and I think they need to sh*t or get off the pot as it's selfish to keep him hanging just cos they have live commitments.

If I heard this about a band, I wouldn't join them, but I guess you're mates with them, so it may be different for you if anything similar ever arose?

  5. Nothing to do with a scam, but I got a message from someone about a pedal I'm selling on Facebook groups...

"I just bought an afterneath, for about the same price as yours but yours looks in better conditions, so I was thinking to bring that back and buy yours, if it's worth it and if you're willing to a bit lower with the price"

Which I thought was mega cheeky so told him I wouldn't sell him it, cos I imagined how annoyed I'd be if I was the person who had sold him the original one, suddenly getting asked to return it cos he'd seen a better condition one!

    Some people...

  6. Re: the avalanche run, someone on a Facebook pedal group has got rid of theirs saying something along the lines of that it doesn't do anything particularly impressive beyond what their existing eqd pedals did, which is enough to put me off a £300 pedal

  7. I love pedals, bl00dy love them, noisy little things!

But, is it just me or have prices in the last few years seemed to have gone complete haywire in the last few years, and it seems to be becoming a more common thing?

Eventide, Strymon, Chase Bliss, Darkglass, Empress, Earthquaker, JHS and even EHX all have pedals that are over £300 a go now!

I own some of the above, but more and more find myself begrudged to give a pedal I really fancy a go if it's that expensive, the EQD Avalanche Run for example, really fancied it, but since I've heard mixed reviews, there's no way I'd drop £300 on a pedal I might not gel with!

Crazy prices, even crazier that I still want them all :)

  8. Just been over to Leeds to get a Barefaced cab off Mark, top bloke, great comms in messages and a pleasure to deal with.

Only noticed when I came to leave feedback that we have met previously, almost 6 years, but apologies for not remembering Mark! :D

The funny thing is, I had even forgot that I had the gear that I sold to you back in 2011 until I read this, my memory is terrible!

  9. I've been back and forth, now I'm cutting down on gear and I think I'll always keep a big valve beast AND a lightweight rig, as I really really can't always be bothered lugging a big head.

My process with lightweight went OTB ->PF500->OTB->M900

I love the sound of the OTB, but the M900 means I can get away without a pedalboard sometimes if I really wanna go minimal.

Big heavy amps, I'll always love my Matamp, best amp I've ever played, it just depends which sells first between that and my AD200 as to which one I end up keeping.

Cabwise, I doubt I'll ever get rid of my Barefaced Vintage, I should be selling my big Green Matamp 610 on tues, and I'd like another small Barefaced ideally for some choice... but I will ALWAYS be gassing for a cheap beaten up Ampeg 810 :D

    Gigged mine again yesterday.

    It was excellent.

Low drive VMT blended with clean, doing old swing tunes. Sounded like a fat B15.

Pic of your settings? This sounds nice!
