At a guess:

I have the guitar player tech kit, plus a couple of other things. Great quality tools. -
Good thread.
I have recently invested in a small tool kit, Cruz Tools.
I have know about action, intonation and truss rod stuff for ever. However, I have never really investigated doing it properly to spec and measurement. I can now set neck relief exactly, and do bridge and pickup height to measurements, and intonation.
I don't know how to cut a nut, or how to do a fret dress though. -
What I crave personally is a totally uncoloured back line set up, so that my bass sounds like it does through headphones in my studio.
Not found it yet. -

Indeed - apologies for the change of heart nottswarwick!
It's a very fine bass tho - happy playing!
Cheers mate

It's ok, as I said, I was happy to keep it -
Lol, this bass is actually now staying with me.
Bass biscuits and I have mutually decided to cancel the transaction.
It's a great bass, not 100% right for either of us! but it am keeping it for now at least.
All is good
Great to meet you Chris -
Assume it's not a midget "t"?
-
To be fair we have about this many in the rep. We don't play them all but we can if required.
A lot of us play and have played in many function and covers bands, so can play many many tunes from memory.
ymmv etc etc -
Unless you need the sound from the amp I'd do what I do in my teaching studios:
Bass into cheap DI box into a little desk
Laptop or iPad into little desk
Monitors or headphones out.
I use a Spirit Folio notepad -

I played with a drummer who had a Yamaha kit that opened in two and you could fit all the drums, one inside the bigger one up to the kick drum. Just one bag to carry the whole set! Let me see if i can dig out a pic...

Yamaha hip gig. Cool kits. -
I'm wishing I'd been able to hang on for a Big Baby2

Did you used to have a S12t? How's it compare?

More pics as requested

Thanks. It's only for my wrist that it is being put up for sale. If it doesn't go I won't be gutted, I play it at home all the time.
Will trade for a P with a slimmer nut, of a Jazz, or a short scale something maybe. Or cash. -

Yes, it's too weedy into 8 ohm, but a different story entirely into 4

I've used mine with a few cabs and it is good with all. Vanderkley, mark bass, etc. it was nice with and EBS neo 115. All these might be out of your price range, but I reckon any half decent 4 ohm cab will do it nicely.
Why Do People Think Set-Ups Are Magic?

For me, basic stuff I can do very competently as I said before. I know what a well set up bass and guitar feels like, as I have paid for plenty of excellent ones on the past.
More complex stuff I will leave to the pros.
And I wouldn't touch my Taylor acoustic, simply because we have a Taylor centre of excellence 2 miles away
