Can those who have ordered, post a review at some point?
Ta! 😀
I got mine within a week of ordering, nicely packaged and arrived in one piece.
Disclaimer - I'm not really a 'chorus pedal' kinda guy (I used an old Boss delay as a pseudo-chorus) so can't really make any direct comparisons between the Eden Bass Chorus and any other dedicated bass chorus pedal that is currently on the market.
Firstly, it looks really nice. I love the 'brushed aluminium and black' look, really classy. It's a bit bigger than a typical Boss unit (roughly the same size as my 3Leaf GR2 - see image) and the layout is horizontal with jacks mounted on the side. The controls are self explanatory - Speed, Depth, Low Cut (I'll talk about this in a bit) and Mix. When I first plugged it in I set everything at noon and went from there. I used both active and passive basses and found no issue with either. I also ran it in my chain with various other pedals (OD + fuzz, octave, filter) and found no issues to report. It seems to play well with other pedals adn both passive and active instruments.
I quickly found a really nice, usable sound that works well for both fretless and fretted (as well as a bit of slap) - Speed at 8 o'clock, Depth and Low Cut around 9, and Mix at noon. Added a very nice subtle chorus shimmer to the proceedings, though while experimenting I found that setting Speed above 9 o'clock and Depth above 10 or 11 was not very usable (for me at least) but may be just right for someone else.
I mentioned the Low Cut knob earlier - the user guide that came with the pedal states: 'Control the amount of bass frequencies chorused by the effect, turning the control to the right reduces the amount of bass frequencies chorused.' However I've definitely found the opposite to be true; turning the Low Cut knob to the right definitely increases the amount of bass frequencies affected and the user guide on the Eden website confirms my theory: '4. Low Cut; Control the amount of low frequencies chorused by the effect, turning the control to the right increases the amount of bass frequency chorused.' I guess there are two versions of the user manual but the Low Cut knob definitely increases the amount of bass frequencies affected!
I really like the Eden, am very happy with the range of tones you can get from it - it can go from really subtle chorus to trem-style to lush trippy OTT chorus. It's completely idiot-proof, the controls are self explanatory, and it looks great. The fact it runs at 15v doesn't bother me either, it comes with its own power supply and I had no issues with my Diago PowerStation powering various other pedals and the Eden power supply in the same 4-gang.
Another plus is it works really well with guitar too and the only 'con' I can think of is the fact the jacks are side-mounted. If they had been top-mounted it would have been totally perfect, but that's a minor inconvenience for such a good looking and sounding (and cheap!) bass-specific chorus. I like it a lot - buy one!

thought a while about this one (thanks for posting it up!) but sadly large size and 15v mean it's no go for me. looks like a killer deal though.
According to the website it comes with an Eden 15v power supply included in the box. Guess the (slight) down side is you'll need multiple power supplies / sockets if you're using more than just this pedal.

I had a look at the G4M webpage for this pedal and they're back in stock. With shipping included, it came to £30.99.
I've ordered one!

From the picture it's definitely a GP11 MK IV. No visible housing for the black light which would indicate the AH150.

So want but must resist! You're a bad man, McNach!

Yeah, I completed it on Fri. Wouldn't say it was pleasant but it wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be!

I just love that colour combo: a nice dark LPB with a tort guard andmatching headstock. Mmmmm, nothing better! (imho of course!)

Do you have a link for Peterbuilt? I can't find anything on t'interweb.

First one that comes up when you type 'Peterbuilt Basses' into Google although there is nothing on the website except a link to their Facebook page... -
Peter Tosh played an M16-style guitar quite a lot. I imagine this bass would have suited Robbie Shakespeare down to the ground!

Dibs on the pedal board if postage isn't too costly! Also can you PM/email me some pics? Ta

Man, that is a thing of absolute beauty! Have an 'I totally covet your bass' type bump on me.

PS - big thumbs-up for your avatar! -
Any money we get paid goes one of two ways; it either goes into the band pot to cover recording costs if we have any studio time planned or gets split evenly between all four members. I've never been in a band where 'band money' was used to cover stuff like strings, amps, guitars, effects pedals, keyboards or drum gear - that has always been the responsibility of the band member playing that particular instrument to cover the upkeep of their own gear. As you pointed out a jointly owned piece of equipment is likely to cause probs in the long run.

Holy Mother of God, I want one!

I can say from personal experience that those Darkglass MV's are excellent. Someone's going to be very happy I suspect

Never really liked the look/shape of Bongo's but this one is really cool!

I've always used use Rotosound strings and currently have Rotosound 55's on my fretless and they're still quite bright even after a few years of use.
I agree with EMG456 regarding full rounds not damaging your board - I used to have Rotosound 66's on my fretless for years and only needed the fretboard planed after almost 20 years of use and that was just down to me being picky, not through necessity.
I like a low action so do get a fair bit of 'mwah' but can easily approximate a more 'upright' sound with the 55's but, as always, ymmv.

Well, that is one extremely unattractive bass...
-
My word, that is simply stunning!

I had a 5-string Curbow in Crazer Orange (I think that's what it was called!) and sold it after the band I was in broke up. Great basses IMHO and I totally regret selling it now.

Huntly - I went there once...

And another +1 for the Roland Bass Micro Cube. I think they're really good actually. Loud enough for any situation where you'd only need a 5 watt amp, has a decent array of simulated amps and useful effects, built-in drum patterns, it's extremely portable and the batteries last for a decent length of time - what's not to like?

Just read this on BBC News. Would love to go but unlikely

See, now that has interested me. From what you say, you thought the GR2 was a good step ahead of the Wonderlove? In what way?
Hey Kev,
From what I read the Wonderlove was marketed on the 3Leaf website as an improvement over the GR2; it’s Spencer’s ‘ultimate filter’ and it doesn’t get any better in terms of filters from 3Leaf. As I said earlier I have a deep love of the GR2 so bought a Wonderlove based on the fact is was hailed as an improvement over the GR2 but was thoroughly underwhelmed in terms of what the WL could do and how it could sound when A/B’d with the GR2.
It may be that they’re based on different circuits - if I remember correctly the GR1/GR2 are Lovetone Meatball clones whereas the WL and the Proton are based on the MuTron III circuit. When I A/B’d them initially I set everything at mid-day on both pedals and I used a variety of different basses (active, passive, fretted & fretless) all at the same settings through the same amp. What struck me right away was the GR2 instantly bubbled into life whereas the WL had to be cajoled and tweaked before it started acting like I thought it should. Initially I thought I had a defective unit but no, it just needs more attention.
I have a specific setting that I always return to with the GR2 so I set the WL up the way I have the GR2 – Sensitivity around 9/10 o’clock, Attack at 11, Decay around 1 or 2, Tone around 3, Range Low, Sweep Up, Mix/Blend around 2, internal switch set to Low Pass and trimpot at unity gain. Playing though the GR2 at these settings gives a wonderfully fat, full, deep, bubbly sound that’s full of vowels and you can’t help but mouth them while bopping your head back and forth, acting like some kind of weird funky chicken! When I set the WL up with exactly the same settings I was shocked. It’s nowhere near as responsive, the envelope barely opens with the sensitivity set at 9 o’clock where as the GR2 was bubbling away; it just didn’t sound as warm or rounded either, nowhere near as full or deep - to me it sounded thin and weak compared with the GR2.
I persevered with WL for a month and experimented with the controls using various basses but I was constantly frustrated and underwhelmed so I just always went back to the GR2. It’s just a better filter and, for me at least, there’s no escaping it. The WL has some really nice features with the Low Pass/Band Pass switch and the Boost trimpot being moved outside the enclosure (the GR2’s Low Pass/Band Pass switch and Boost trimpot are internal and accessing them involves removing the cover) and the Expression Pedal input is also a nice touch but apart from that I just don’t see it being anywhere near as good (in my experience anyway) as the GR2.
