The Orb supporting Ozric Tentacles on Friday 14th in Liquid Room in Edinburgh. Jeez, what a gig. Place was totally rammed. We started out on the ground floor, but it was just mobbed, so we moved up to the balcony and got a pretty decent spot overlooking the stage. We missed the start of the Orb set, but the rest of the gig was stupendous. I danced like a maniac for the reminder of the event. Top quality gig. The Orb were superb, but the Tentacles were mind-blowing. Gig of the year (so far) for me. It's gonna be difficult to top that show.

EXL means nickel strings and EPS means stainless in D'Addario language. I have a set of these on my 35" scale bass if that helps. The windings would be too short for 36" scale or if you're running strings through the body.
Apologies for the late reply.
Yeah, it's a thro-body set-up.
Thanks anyway tho mate. Have a great Xmas and NY.
All the best,

Hi Lee,
Does the 'XL' mean they're extra long scale - i.e. 35 inch as opposed to the usual 34 inch scale?
Thanks mate

How amazing was Giant in the encore?
Man, pretty much that entire second set was superb. But Yes, Giant was top notch. I see you're in Edinburgh. Were you at Usher Hall too?
It was great to hear Icing Up from Burning Blue Soul. Didn't expect anything from that album at all to be honest, though I think he could have chosen something else, like Song Without an Ending, Sun Rising Through my Garden, Bugle Boy, Another Boy Drowning for example. Nevertheless, great gig. -
The The on their Ensouled world tour in Usher Hall in Edinburgh a month ago.
They played two sets - the first set was the new album, Ensoulment, in its entirety. Not my favourite album, but hearing it played live was really good. The second set was all the 'classics' from Burning Blue Soul up to Dusk. I would have paid the ticket price solely for the second set, it was that good!-

Hi mate, are these long scale? If so, I'm interested in them. I'll PM you.

Hi, possibly a stupid question, but what does "tw" indicate on the E & B strings of the 5-string sets? Something wrap, maybe?
Cheers 🙂

Ed was a pleasure to deal with. Good comms, item well packed, arrived promptly, and was exactly as described.
Definitely recommended! 🙂

If you decide to sell these separately I'll potentially take the Elf head...

I've got two of these. They're great! 🙂

Yep, I regularly go to the Edinburgh store and buy stuff from them - basses, amps, pedals, leads etc... and I've traded some gear in too. They're a good crowd, they stock a wide variety of products from a pretty varied array of manufacturers, they don't bug you, there's no hard sell, and the manager knows I regularly spend decent sums of cash with them so he never refuses a discount if I smile and ask him for his "best price" on any given item! 😉
I like 'em! 🙂

What would you change about a production bass model you like?

The Schaller bridge on my fretless is about as adventurous as I'll get! 😁
