1. Heheh I might buy this so I can say my bass has the most strings on it: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/15-STRING-BASS-PERCU...1QQcmdZViewItem
2. Ah! Forgot about those. Cost me £400. There was a set on EvilBay last week - not sure if they sold or not. I've just bought an Oberheim Matrix module - closest thing I've found in a midiable synth to the Taurus sound - hook my Roland pedals up and it does the job fairly well.
3. Thanks Budget! Just need a better camera and some more sunshine...!
4. My most expensive bass WAS Mark King's red Jaydee Classic - cost me £6000. Had to sell it when I turned pro My most expensive purchase that still remains in the collection was my US made Spector NS-2 which was purchased secondhand for £1900. I bought my Chris Squire 4001CS (#475) at a very good price and as already noted, it must be worth over £2K nowadays. Other `valuable' basses amongst the 52 include: 4 Pangborns 4 Status basses, including two Series 2000s, an early Series II and a 5 string Series I 2 Jaydees, one being a full on custom Classic 2 Alembics 3 Vigiers Steinberger Xl-2 - ex JJ Burnel Again, the price of an instrument is a very subjective matter, its worth what someone is willing to pay for it!
5. We did a gig on a ferry moored right in the centre of the Mersey last November.....! Not so much dizzy but trying to stand upright and not fall over was a problem. Seriously, it might well be an inner ear problem. I'm currently being treated (ooer) for a persistent issue with my right ear which has caused a 75% loss of hearing. I'd consult your GP in the first instance - then get referred to an ENT specialist. My problem stems from some kind of recurrent infection which may have been related to exposure to high sound pressure levels. My former main band (The One Eyed Cats - Muppet may know of them) had a very loud drummer and 4 piece brass section and I think constant gigging (without ear protection) was the cause of this. The worst issue I had was the inability to pitch; for example, I'd be playing a C - I'd then go to play a G and it sounded like a G flat - f*cking nightmare that was. Never really had any major dizziness though. Cheers Nick
6. Allo! Just in case you are not yet aware, Jaydee have a new website: http://www.jaydeecustomguitars.co.uk Check out David Watt's new GA bass featured in the Custom page: http://www.jaydeecustomguitars.co.uk/one_off_specials.html Nick
7. Stunning! Just stunning! Not sure if you guys are aware but John has a brand new website and this bass is featured within! http://www.jaydeecustomguitars.co.uk The old site can still be found at: http://www.jaydeeguitars.com The Pangborn head shape suits the bass perfectly; you've also combined the traditional `MK' cutaway designs nicely too! We will have to organise another open day at John's workshop - the last one we had was back in 2001 and was a truly memorable event - some great basses there including the very first two JDs. Must give John a ring to see if he's finished respraying my Classic! Cheers Nick
8. He's just bought my Vigier custom bass case - top man!!! Highly Recommended! Cheers m8! Nick

12. Intellesting, velly intellesting! I've got 52 basses as some of you already know....! Many never see the light of day but the collection contains many basses that I used to lust after during my *penniless teenage years and its great (20 or so years later) to be able to indulge oneself! As a working pro, I tend to use around 8 or 9 basses for different jobs. * nothings changed! Nick
13. ....Colin Hodgkinson was the best player the Snakes ever had - wasn't really his thing though as he told me! Neil Murray was also very good. Just my h.o. Nick
14. ...awww! Nice to see the old girl again! Remember, take good care of my baby!
15. Allosch! Yes. Bought said Passion bass - bit of a bargain eh?! Hi Mike - good to hear from you - def. keep that green one! All is well out here in the fens. Mr Littler - glad you liked the battered beast - went down very well at the recent bash! Many thanks! Nick
16. Allo! That is a fine bass - it belongs to Mike Edmunds (aka bassworm) - his green one is also delicious! Cheers! Nick (ps - just bought another Vigier!)
17. ...the front dots on the fretless are original - must have been the fashion at that time!

21. Aha! I nearly had bass #53 today but twas not to be....! Kiwi - are there any piccies of your gould-of-geoffrey-garbed vessel of distillation anywhere for I to peruse? My hanky is poised....was that you or an aged Boy George in the pic!? Ped - glad you like the avatar! Merton - many thanks! I'd swap me red one for your lovely Retro...! Old Git - good to meetcha at the bash! Nick (terminal gas sufferer)
22. Tell me more good sir! Next time I will bring the Alembics....! And the other two Pangborns!
23. I used to own this - funny feeling owning something that I used to slabber over whilst watching Mr King playing it in concert..! Wish I'd still got it - aside from its `slightly well known former owner connection' it was the best JD I've ever owned.
24. Current fave: My all time fave that I had some years ago - not just because of its history but as an instrument:
