1. I’ll try that, but my above seemed closest to me.
2. I asked Orange what flat eq was supposed to be, even they weren’t sure! But they did have a great suggestion. They suggested plugging the bass into the return to hear what flat is (bypassing the preamp stage), then plugging into the amp as normal to compare the tone by ear…and to these ears it seems that indeed treble fully off, mid fullly on and bass fully off seems to be flat eq! I would be interested to hear what other players opinions would be if they try this method?
3. Yes thanks, I’ve given it a tiny tweak already for that!
4. Great review! This I VERY recently purchased…loving it so far, but yet to gig with. I’m pretty sure I won’t be disappointed though😎
5.
Nice! Where did you get a new Ric from?
Hi Musicman, I bought it from PMT music in Bristol

7. My new Rick 4003, had to get one!
8. Once had a thunder 1A, and upgraded to a thunder 3, great basses, especially the 3. Long gone now though.....
9. This is the Manson bass with the white spots you're referring to?: http://www.mansons.co.uk/product/preowned-manson-explorer-bass-5836 I owned this bass from (approx) 1987-2010ish!!:-), paid about £375. Pretty sure it was mine 'cause I think it was a one off and I added the chrome knobs (they were originally hatbox type black/transparent ones). It was well gigged, but eventually sold it in part-ex for a 1x15 Gallien Kruger cab (that ironically I rarely use) as it was no longer my no.1 bass. I also recall the active could do with an upgrade, and then there was the size and the weight!! It was a class bass though, sometimes wish I'd have kept it, but then I've thought that about a lot of basses (a Hayman 40-40 for instance!). Boris the spider, did you buy it in Bristol, Gloucester road by any chance?
