XL t shirts on the Bass Gear stand weren't being sold by Basschat. But if you want to place an order, drop Ped a line.

well just got back after attending my first show,
why do most people think they need to slap the hell out off a bass
at every given moment at silly volumes, some good ,some bad, even saw a young guy with his thumb taped
ala mr king, felt a bit sorry for bernie goodfellow being where he was,I wanted to have a word but felt a little bit
with all of what was going on,managed to stop myself from buying another overwater
lee sklar masterclass what can you say well just superb,
some lovely boutique kit, also some lovely oldies but as been said before not enough bread and butter,
meeting basschat folks
will I go again for sure
had a really good day,met two of my heroes, saw some nice playing,
the guys on the elixiar strings stand,
they were just so good,
player with a red fiver he was proper, nothing too flash just really nice playing
the other guys in the band were equally as good
all in all a very good day worth the trip from hastings,
see you all next year
ps
there were no xl tshirts left
I really wanted one,so if anyone has a spare size xl thar is surplus let me know
cheers

I remember going to clouds disco in edinburgh in the 70s to see all on the same bill
xray specs
the jam
souxie and the banshees
dammed
as a non punk it was to say the least interesting,
the jam were really good
midge ure at the time played in a covers band called salvation,
they were very good, that band went on to become slick, for him the rest is history
went to see a band called mott the hoople they were supported by queen
who had just released seven seas of rye both were fantastic,
went to my first festival at loch lomond bear park
awb,gillan ,stranglers ect ect
and all the naughty things that happen at these events,
for me the 70s were wonderfull
the 80s were better
cheers

well once again the collective knowledge and advice on basschat come through,'
after reading the comments the advice and generally having a look at myself everyone is right
oh and so am I
yes playing is not only a hobby but part of who I,WE are,
playing live is just epic,
I should not be so hard on myself and also so defeatist,
the amount of times over the years people have said you are so lucky to be able to
play a instrument, but we say thanks not really nowing how it feels not to play because we have always done it
so in a way take it for granted, when there are so many people would love to be able to butcant or dont
so in answer to all the comments made
no I will not stop
no I will not sell up
yes I will look for something new,and keep looking
give myself a good talking to lol
so thanks for all the comments made
it made a silly old git realise a few things
cheers
stef
ps
will keep posted on progress -
after playing in bands for a long time, everything from american rock, blues, originals, covers
and almost everything inbetween,
I took a long sabatical about ten or so years, didnt pickup oe touch a bass in all that time,
although never losing my love of all types of music
a couple of years ago I got my mojo back, started practicing ,playing ect
got new gear,gk ect,got rid of all the old basses except the 69 jazz, got a overwater ect, went to a couple of auditions, jams ect,got on well,
started playing with a covers band, that fell apart, and the same thing happened again, they was just not into practice ect,
so maybe its me,or maybe I am just a rubbish judge of character, but I just sort of feel that why should I bother,
I have always let my playing get me through, but its not enjoyable anymore, too many people just seem to be full of it
or maybe its just me feeling sorry for myself,
oh well onwards ect,
what does one do when they feel like this, sell up again and take up knitting,or persevere
cheers
