  1. Thanks for the replies and pm

firsr let me apologise for perhaps not stating in the original post,

i have been asked by lots of people to post and have politely declined,

i have previously posted two basses, the first was damaged in transit

    second  never arrived

i had pictures of the guy on pickup and the van etc,on both occasions it was a royal pain to sort

A meet halfway if not the other end of the country is always possible ,

whilst some will say you would sell quicker if you post

    it is my decision

    sorry  for going on

    cheers

  4. Status matrix

so as lockdown eases I am selling some basses, amps and pedals.

firstly is this status from the early nineties, got this a few years ago from a lovely chap near Birmingham,

i gigged it for a while but now my go to is a pair of overwaters,

comes with a tatty old hard case,

super fast neck with a low action and light strings,

super range of sounds, from a early bass,

open to trades as well for a fretless

    cheers

  5. so I use a markbass 121h combo and matching cab

I have the amp set flat and my bass controls the sound, from my

    overwaters and its absolutely awesome

I do use a compressor in my pedal board but only used on a few bits and bobs,

Oh that's nice I wish I knew this before

However 8 see loads of people complain about the weight.

I never had a problem for basses weighing more then 5kg

I mean I played loads of gigs but most of gigs weren't more then 50 min so no a issue for me

so do you always playing standing or do you  4 5 hours straight? Why suddenly everyone has problem with weight? I 7ndwrstand few people play on cruise ship etc

I think since lighter basses become available people stir away from heavier one even if they sit at home everyday for practise. I always found the sound of heavier basses more rounder then my other 3kg bass

So I have just weighed my overwater 4 and it’s 3.79kg against my carbon status at 3.91 kg,

also just did the same with my 5string overwater at 3.98 kg against my status 5 string at 4.12 kg the five string status is wood with the carbon inserts in the neck

so in the greater scheme of thing not overly heavy

    cheers

  8. so I own both a 4 string and 5 string custom jazzes stunning in every respect

weight wise my four is lighter than my status and the five is not much more

they by far give me all I need, for me they are just fantastic basses well made and a fantastic range of sounds

chris and Kirsty from overwater are always just at the end of the phone if needed,

there is a overwater get together this sunday at the joint at kings cross, chris and Kirsty will both be there and there will be a few basses for people to try

finally my overwaters are my go to basses aboveall else
