Ebay links forum

Maybe add a time restraint on the newer members for the ebay links sub forum? They would have to wait 2 weeks or whatever before they can post there?
2. Oh another would have to be Higher Ground by the Chili Peppers!
3. I once tried it with cranberry juice in water, got my strings nice and plinky again, and even tinted them a lovely shade of red! Beats buying coloured strings
4. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
5. I have been looking for one of these for ages, sadly I'm in the North East so it seems a bit of a problem, otherwise I would be on this like a shot!
6. Hi, i am getting set to buy my second amp, as my small 45W practice job just isn't good enough, and i have read a few articles on the dreaded '2nd amp' purchase, but haven't reached any conclusion. I am looking for something which will pack a decent punch in practice and also be able to do small gigs, preferably something which can deal out mean lows as i primarily play metal. I have a price limit of £250 downwards, but will probably buy it second hand to save costs. So being the reliable, informative chaps you all are, what suggestions would you make? Cheers, Matt
7. Forgive me if this has already been done, but what are everyones favourite bass riffs and lines from songs? I'll kick start by saying: Sabotage - Cancer Bats (Cover of Beastie Boys) Sugar - System Of A Down Orion - Metallica Panic Attack - Dream Theatre Holiday In Cambodia - Dead Kennedys
8. Yeah, from specs and description it sounds like a brilliant practice amp, sadly it's now just out my price reach thanks to the VAT increase, i will also check out that EBS 60 amp, but i'll definitely keep my eyes open for any deals, thanks for the help guys

10. Hi, anyone else heard/been to these guitar fairs and conventions? If not i'd strongly urge you to go, small entry fee (£2 i think) and a great place to buy/sell/trade your goodies, there are a great range of stringed instruments (mainly bass and g**t*r - sorry for that unholy word!). A large range of luthiers are present from all over, and offer great advice and even look at and possibly fix your gear! Anyway i have picked up a few bits of gear at super discount prices, there really are some great deals! Sorry if this appears as advertising or whatever, i'm just keen to recommend this to people, as it was a great fair. Like i said, get along if you can, dates are here for different areas: http://www.b-visible.co.uk/businesses/72/mojo.html
11. Yeah this is a bad problem for us people, music sales are down, with many record shops such as HMV shutting stores, thus creating a lesser demand for instruments, not helped by the VAT increase either!
12. Welcome along, well done on the instrument switch, a massive step up i'd say
13. Hi, i'm scouting around for a new amp set for practice and occasionally small gigging, this one caught my eye with good looking specs and an affordable price, does anyone own one which they could provide an insight into?
14. Makes the Warwick Vampyre look like it's for little girls..
15. I have one of these, got it second hand for £25 - absolute steal! For me it's a brilliant little box of magic, the first 40 effects are good, providing a large range of effects for each genre, but what really topped it off for me was the second set of 40 effects - the customisable ones. They really are brilliant, as with the correct fine-tuning and time you can replicate sounds from many other pedals, and get that precise overdrive buzz or whammy effect that songs use. The effects it has are nearly limitless, and you can adjust each effect to get that sound you need. I really would recommend this bit of gear, as at only 70 odd quid it's a steal for the potential it holds!
16. Here's one for the rookies and self-taught chaps, Simply take half an hour or an hour just getting to know your bass lines and fills, for example, take the root note of a song, then simply play a bar of that note, then improvise a fill, just add notes depending on feel and relevance to root note, if it sounds right great! If not then remove it and try another! Use this method until you are comfortable with a variety of fills and breaks. This worked great for me, since i'm self taught (with a few dvds on the side). It's all about sitting down and taking it slowly with your bass
17. I may be interested, can i see a range of pics please? Oh and what specs has it got?
18.
Where do you live? I have an orange BB415 that I've modded to make the B tighter - here's the review I did and the extra additions not noted here are new Hipshot string trees. You're welcome to try if you're close enough.
North Yorkshire, around the York area

Hello :)

Hi everyone New to this site, I've been playing for around 4 years, so fairly new compared to most of you, i started put with a cheap Ashton AB2 starter pack thing from my local shop, I still would recommend it for beginners,'anyway I now have a custom made passive 4 string J bass, made by a small company called Aura. I listen mainly to metal and hard rock, but love playing a bit of everything, especially that and blues. I was inspired by a few bassists, mainly Paul Gray, Tim Commerford and the legend that is Victor Wooten. Anyway I'll probably see you all around the site
20. Nice, I think I'll have to pop down to my local dealer and try it out, from your description it seems like a definite contender, thanks for the suggestion!
21. That sounds like a decent bass, what is the B like in more detail? Tight is always good, how does it handle in terms of volume and tone compared to the other strings? E.g some basses have quieter or more bassy B strings? That may just be the string type/make though
22. Brilliant, thanks very much!
23. Hi, I'm looking to get my hands on a 5 string bass, I have a low budget (£300 down) but I don't mind wither it's pre-owned or not. Anyway, does anyone have any recommendations for either passive/active, 34 scale 5 string? I play primarily pop-rock, metal and blues. If more info is needed I'll be glad to fill you in! Thanks!
