1. Bump .. back to P#1 ... and I'll try to get a better headstock photo added !
2. Certainly... here it is: not a brilliant shot (.. lots of shadow...I'll try to take an improved one!), but it's basically a Fender type headstock (4 + 1 on the 5 string) with an altered tip (not unlike the Albey Balgochian 'A' bass design) :-
3. Thanks Nick / Mike .. Yes, it's a lovely bass and the Nordstrand pickups (combined with the extensive EQ options) are something special. I did have a very positive PM re. the Valenti and thought it might be sold: but the prospective buyer is now deciding between it and another bass ... so it (and the Roscoe) remain currently available...
4. Selling this on behalf of a friend (.. not really my type of thing at all, but it performs remarkably well for an old 1x15 unit - obviously well built and hardwearing). Details:- Peavey TNT 100 (150w): dimensions in cm. 61 (w), 68 (h +castors), 33 (d). It weighs some 31kg (!!).. so would have to be localy collected (although one of us would probably be OK to drive a few miles - from Teeside - for petrol ££ rather than postage costs) Front panel has: Inputs 1 & 2, Pre, EQ (4): Low, Paramid - Shift, High, Gain, Pre-amp Out. Still performs excellently (full 150w, 15" PV speaker and horn) and the external appearance has been refurbished (de-chromed to a matt black) and still looks OK (just some natural wear to the tolex and knobs etc.) £99 .... reduced to £75 !!.... to £65 !!! ... £50
5. Contemplating (only.. at present) selling one of my favourite 5's (still short of funds / other things not selling). This one is a Valenti J5 (other one is a Roscoe LG3005 here:- http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...st=0#entry14605 ). Valenti Modern 5 String Swamp Ash body with Natural finish 34" Scale with 19mm spacing at the bridge 10mm spacing at the Nut and 16mm at the 24th fret. 8.8 lbs. on the digital bathroom scales. Wenge Neck with black laminate headstock face Wenge Board Nordstrand DC5’s Dual Coil pickups Aguilar OBP-3 Black Hardware Hipshot A Style Bridge Hipshot Ultralites Tuners Schaller Strap Locks The bass has the following layout: 1-Volume w/p/p for preamp bypass 2-Blend 3-Treble w/p/p for Neck position P/U for Hum bucker mode to Single Coil mode 4-Mids with w/p/p for Mid Shift 5-Bass w/p/p for Bridge position P/U for Humbucker mode to Single Coil mode This bass is in excellent condition. There is one small ding on the body, just under the volume knob. The neck is quite similar those on the MTD 535's, but slightly deeper. The Nordstrand pickups and overall EQ options are exceptional. Roscoe LG 3005 ... an amazing instrument and one of the nicest 5's I've owned. The 'B' is legendary and the instrument plays really well, having been recently serviced: frets have been levelled (it only had one high spot which has been fixed), intonated, neck adjusted, action reset, etc. LG-3005 Roscoe 5 String Bass. 7. Buzz now currently ON HOLD. MVP4 (fretted) still available !!
8. Weekend BUMP (back to Page#1) with about 3 days to run on ebay....
9. Forgot to list this on ebay yesterday, but have done so today:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=160122617054 so it will now run until Monday (unless somebody uses the BIN !). If it (they) doesn't go, then I'll be going ahead with the Buzz sale (assuming the guy remains interested) and looking to sell the MVP fretted independently.
10. BH BUMP and Update:- ... I've had genuine interest in the Buzz 4 (plus the same on the mvp4, but the PM'er lives 300+ miles away and does not want the instrument to be posted...). If there's genuine interest in the MVP (fretted) 4 @ £1k ovno. (posted, or collected if you're close enough) then I'd consider splitting the pair. If there's no interest/response, I plan to ebay the pair tomorrow for 5 days and then to sell the Buzz-4 if that doesn't work.
11. +1 'Excellent' for me ! Andy travelled up to try (and then buy, fortunately) my Lakland HB4 FL - great guy, it was a pleasure to meet-up and discuss basses, music etc. !!
12. Thanks CK ! ... sounds like a quality upgrade to an already potent fretless tone ! I forgot to add that the Sadowsky-type knobs I was attempting to source are/were for the MVP fretted (to match those on the Buzz-4... didn't really bother me before I got that): I still need to order but - as there's another member who's wanting some - will do so this w/end. once they're here I'll change them for the plain black ones currently fitted (or send-on to replace, if the bass is already sold)... Here's a closer shot of the mvp:- ..I've had some positive interest in the Buzz, already. Would prefer to keep/sell as a pair .. but if there's another who might be interested in (just) the MVP-fretted, let me know ....
13. Thanks Chris (ped) !!.. very useful to have some additional soundclips. ... I'll certainly miss these (if they do sell - realistically needs for somebody to be looking for a fretted/FL pair if this quality or make), but plan to create another 'matched' pair later in the year (if affordable).
14. Beautiful 1991 Pedulla MVP 4 string fretted Bass finished in translucent cherry red and 1994 Pedulla MVP-Buzz 4 finished in translucent Vintage Cherry. Both have Bartolini P and J pickups, Volume, Pan and activeTone (MVP) or active Bass + Treble (Buzz) knobs, gold hardware, and are in excellent condition for thier age(s). Both require a 9 volt battery to power the active electronics. The MVP has a one small ding on the top of the instrument, other than that the marks on both basses are minimal and supericial. Both play and sound great. The earlier MVP has some of the features of that period such as the brass nut and the vol/pan/tone - but the basses have a very similar feel and weight, so it's really easy in switching from the fretted to the lined fretless bass. I've had the mvp for a while but more recently acquired the 'matching' Buzz-4. Unfortunately, need to sell (.. unless other things go first) to finance travel and other things. The Buzz does not have the somewhat OTT polyester, glassy finish of the current models; it has a really nice, more organic fretless sound, has an ebony fretboard and is currently fitted with black, nylon flatwounds. Serial number (which can be date-checked on the Pedulla site) 33** . New, would now cost around $3895 - 4195! in the USA and £2k+ ('Mansons' - link below) in the UK. From Pedulla:- ...Based on the unique design that first brought M.V. Pedulla to prominence, the MVP (fretted) and Buzz (fretless) basses combine hard-hitting tone with player-friendly ergonomics, featuring neck-through body construction for superb sustain and tone, plus a sleek and facile neck shape, ebony fingerboard, and a beautifully sculpted flame maple body. The ergonomic design includes a deep cutaway on the treble side for easy access to all 24 frets, and an extended bass-side horn that provides a perfect balance point when a strap is used. A three-piece laminated maple neck passes through the entire length of the body, providing maximum focus and sustain. In addition, a double -acting truss rod and two steel stiffening bars in the neck reinforce and maintain stability. The 24-fret ebony fingerboard is inlaid with 5mm pearl dots, and its hardness resists wear and contributes to the MVP's distinctive tone and sustain. The MVP/Buzz is available with your choice of pickups: PJ, JJ, or Soapbar: PJ combination: This set-up is extremely versatile and as a result is the most commonly used pickup configuration of the MVP/Buzz series. The PJ, to our ears, is the best way to reproduce what the strings and wood of the instrument are doing acoustically. The split “P” has a tight midrange growl, and combines very well with the upper mids of “J” pickup. With a full-range, flat frequency response, the PJ set-up allows you to tailor sound through careful selection of amplifier, cabinet and EQ. Details/Options: BODYWINGS: AA or AAA Flame maple NECK: Capillary (neck-through), 3 piece maple laminate SCALE LENGTH: 34 inches FINGERBOARD: Ebony NUMBER OF FRETS: 24/24 inlaid white markers. 17. I was a bit unsure on listing this... but there seem to have been a couple of *geetars in both For Sale & Wanted(s) recently: so here goes:- The Marleaux Nylectric Guitar. A classic Marleaux design that couples the unique tones of a nylon strung guitar, with the playability and volume of an electric instrument. It offers the player comfort and balance, both seated and on a strap, with unfettered fingerboard access right up to the 24th fret. The critical acoustic tone is derived from the Dibetou body and light weight resonance of the two piece mahogany neck, resulting in a direct and focused attack and a wide ranging dynamic response. The body of the Nylectric is beautifully capped off with a choice of exotic book matched veneer tops. The subtle but effective active two band EQ and sensitive under saddle piezo pickup system, allows the player ample freedom to adjust his or her tone to the requirements of their chosen playing environment. solid body nylon string guitar two piece Dibetou body with exotic veneer top two piece light weight mahogany neck choice of classical or electric style neck widths Rio Rosewood fingerboard natural or "antique" satin finish piezo under saddle pick up active 2-band EQ Nylectric Soundsample (MP3 - 2,3 MB) This is a real quality (+New) instrument (i.e. it's a Marleaux) in a fairlty restricted area in terms of choice / quality - it's perfect for Nylon / electric performance (Earl Klugh, Lee Ritenour, Acoustic Alchemy, Sting etc.). ££££££££££££ incl. a brand-new Ritter case !!............... now SOLD !!!
