  1. Great stuff, and well done to your singer coming back from such a serious accident. Well done. Dave
  2. Gorgeous basses. Unusual pick ups on it. What are they ? Warwick normally used EMG or MEC back then. Any idea what pre-amp is used in it. Just curious. Already have a gorgeous Thumb NT from 1989 but GLWTS. Dave
  3. If you want total darkness blackout curtains might be the better way to go. I don't mind a little bit of light at the edges but when the cat pushes the vertical slats aside in the middle of the window and the sun directly hits your face its a bit of a nuisance to say the least. Dave
  4. Only realised after 20 yrs of asthma that it was the Ibuprofen that was triggering it. I have to make do with paracetamol these days which isn't so fast acting when a migraine comes on. Jings i'm an auld duffer these days. Dave
  5. And a few amps in the collection too. 👍 Dave
  6. I would have thought you just turned up and played at your gigs Pete. Iss that not what roadies are for. My biggest problem over the years is i can't sleep when its daylight. If its not the brightness its the daytime noises. I have blackout blinds but the cats love jumping up between the vertical slats and hey ho i'm awake as the sun hits our bedroom window in the mornings. I think you're right tho. Once you get into a routine of doing regular gigs its no different from doing most other jobs with odd hours. Dave
  7. Jings you're just a few yrs less than me then and i have to admit i couldn't do that many gigs over a weekend. I've just put elixirs on one of my basses and they are easier on the fingers than the DR Black Beauties that seem to burn if you slide. The Elixirs don't do that altho they do have a fair bit more tension and i had to straighten the neck on the Sandberg by almost a full turn on the truss rod. Will see how they last. Between my 2 bands i have to remember around 85-90 songs that don't overlap as one band is Glam covers the other punk covers. Its a pain when one band hasn't played for a couple of mths and i need to rehearse at home to get back on top of them usually the punk songs 😀 Dave
  8. Yes i do and she goes to all my gigs these days. Not the rehearsals tho. Maybe she doesn't trust me at gigs, but at my age she has no worries there. Dave
  9. WOW just WOW All the very best with them. I personally couldn't do that many gigs as my finger tips would be leaking fluid when my blisters burst altho when i was gigging regularly few mths back i had no issues. Things have quietened down a bit this last month but picking up again soon. Still 5 gigs and a rehearsal in five days would kill me at my age. Impressed tho. Have fun and enjoy cause that's what its all about. Dave
  10. Our gig on Sat was an early start for a Sat at 7:30 and due to finish 10:15pm because of noise complaints from neighbours. Here's me expecting to be home easily for 12pm. We ended up finishing at 10:30pm at request of audience to carry on. Everything packed up and loaded by 11:15pm. Had to sit around for approx 30mins until 11:45 before we got paid and bar was completely empty. I was expecting to be home for midnight but almost 1am. Its only an hours drive for me too. The things we do for enjoyment. Its a great wee venue that we play regularly and i'm not sure how long she's going to be able to keep putting bands on. It annoys me when people move next door to a bar that has live music and then complain about noise. They now have an excuse that due to pandemic they got used to weekends being quiet. Dave
  11. Yep love those Sunday afternoon club gigs with the Glam covers band. Usually well attended and always a great audience participation. Home by 6-7pm what's not to like about that. Dave
  12. It comes with Marmalade and delivered by Desperate Dan. 😂 Dave
  13. Emergency Exit punk covers band in one of our regular bar gig in Dumfries at The Riverside. As always it was a great night with a decent sized and enthusiastic audience. We had a local Ramones fan and guest singer for one of their songs which was good fun altho we changed the key for our female singer and i think he struggled to reach the higher notes in some areas. Our own singer Lynn covered those bits with him so all good. After the gig we were asked if we would be interested in doing a local festival next year so that was good. This was taken at sound check and we even got a cheer and round of applause doing the sound check which is always a nice feeling. We even had a couple that travelled from Gretna to the gig. They booked a taxi for 11pm to get home at £50. I remembered them form last time we played there. Sold 8 of our new T shirts last night too as modelled by our singer in the pic below. Early start 7:30pm finished 10:30 with 15min break Dave
  14. Agree on the Dundee audiences. They do seem to have an enthusiastic attitude to live bands. They just love live music by looks of it. Dave
  15. I think we all might agree, not so much sad but more disturbed comes to mind Dave
  16. Nice one Daryl, good to hear it went well plus its sunny out there in the wild west. 👍 Dave
  17. If the band are able to do the gig Daryl then go for it. Using a Dep guitarist could be tricky but you are all competent musicians that can cope with minor changes with the dep guitarist. Look forward to a report on how it goes. Wish you well with it mate. Dave
  18. Agree and the fact its built in UK is a huge bonus. Looking forward to seeing and hearing the completed amp. Dave
  19. WOW not seen one of these in such a long long time and in perfect condition too. GLWTS Dave
  20. They did start making them after mine but when i bought mine they didn't do custom work and making an 8 string neck was probably a bit too expensive if it was just going to be a one off. I can only imagine the 8 string demand must have grown for a spell. Mike Rutherford had an 8 string Hagstrom bass if i remember correctly and that's why i wanted the 4 and 8 string. I do remember it being a very heavy beast especially when i was on 5'9" and 9.5st. The weight was the main reason i traded it for an Aria SB1000. Dave
  21. I owned the black one which was their first attempt at an 8 string where they converted their 6 string bass for me. I'm assuming the serial number would be 001 Dave
  22. Trying to emulate a synth part and envelope filter is the nearest thing to it but still keeping it simple. I'll certainly try your suggestion tho and if that works i'm a pedal less on stage. Dave
  23. Curious but do you use them all during a gig ? If so what kind of music are you playing. ? That's a lot of pedals and this is the small board Dave.
  24. With Glam band its active Bass, Wireless, Envelope filter (for 8 bars in one song) and amp. Wireless has built in tuner and amp has built in compressor. With punk band its passive Bass, lead and amp. Tuner is run from the Amp tuner out. Dave
