That's good news about the amp and the bass should be an easy fix i would think. Have to say i take a spare bass and amp and always have twin cabs anyway. Even my wireless if it fails i can plug straight into the receiver with a lead and still use the tuner. Dave

I'd be surprised if it was a faulty DI cable if he used the same cables with your spare amp and it sounded ok. Kinda points towards the GK. I once had a dodgy effects return socket on an amp that caused problems because it sits with the contacts made all the time and never really gets used. If you stick a jumper lead from effects send to effects return it sorts it until you can give the contacts a clean. Your amp gets a lot of use on the road too so a little bit of dust on contacts. Wee afternoon charity event today 1-6pm with BLOCKBUSTARZ Glam covers band so home by 7:30pm Sold Out gig and dancers up for it from the word go again. The organiser wants to book us again for another charity event so we will give the discounted rate. Had a few requests to book us for birthday parties in 2024 but unfortunately our calendar for next year is filling up fairly fast. DJ that was in the venue said the feedback from everyone he spoke to was WOW just WOW what a show. He's never heard that about any other band that's played there. He's also on the club committee so that was good. All in all a great wee afternoon and we even got sandwiches and hot sausage rolls provided at break with coffee and tea. "Lubbily". Those sausage rolls sold it for me. We even got paid before we even started. How confident was the organiser altho she did see us play their for a birthday party 6mths ago. Happy Days No gig pics but here's our "ready to go" pic from the tiny changing room. Dave

Wee Vid appeared from our last BLOCKBUSTARZ Glam covers gig last Fri night. This was the 3rd song of the night. Not the best sound quality from a mobile but you get the drift. 🤩 http://www.facebook.com/dickie.decibel/videos/905130571115381?idorvanity=1017907961725565

Think i might be a tad upset / angry at that one if i'm perfectly honest. Wouldn't have minded if i was 30mins along the road but 4hrs drive each way for a 20min slot plus all the annoyance of watching others over-run. Person in charge should do what i've witnessed at varied band shows and when their time is up he mutes the PA at the end of the song they are on. Job done. Its all very well getting paid same amount but you set yourself up for a 90 min show to get 20 mins worth. AAAAAHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!! Dave

Doesn't sound that bad to me. I've always found gigs with band change-overs always have some sort of issue and you just need to get on with it. By the sound of it that's what you did and the audience enjoyed what you do. I do appreciate and understand the guitarist thing and its been the same in almost every band i've ever been in over 40+ yrs altho my current guitarists in both bands are exceptionally well mannered and just so easy to work with. I've waited 40+ yrs to reach this point tho so stay positive and look forward to lwhat can be achieved ater in life Dave

Neither is Paisley

Glasgow Airport's not too far away Dave

She is very talented. Dave

Is it the same female singer in both bands Daryl ? Dave
-
Its basically just ignorance on my part. I simply wasn't aware and never really gave it much more thought. When i looked at the google map Paisley borders on Glasgow so i wasn't far away I also had no idea Paisley was Scotlands 5th largest Town / City. Every day a school day on Basschat and happy that people actually read my posts. More importantly WHY WERE YOU NOT AT MY GIG LAST NIGHT in Paisley. Dave

It annoys me when a venue books a band and then wants them to turn down lower than their TV screens. Worst i've had was a club booked us and sold out 120 tickets plus a few paid at door on the night but another club committee member decided to take a 2nd booking in the smaller hall for approx 30 people at a birthday just one door away from us. He then came into our hall and told us to turn down because the other hall couldn't hear their small portable bluetooth speaker playing background music. The members attending our event told him he should never have taken a double booking when a band was booked in main hall. He left in a huff but oddly enough during the 2nd set he was in dancing away to our Glam covers songs and had huge praise for us at the end of the night saying we will definitely be rebooking us. Unbelievable but yes we have returned and it went exceptionally well. Dave

That's odd as i don't class EK as part of Glasgow. Paisley, Hillington and Renfrewshire i've always thought of them as subarbs of Greater Glasgow area. Think the fact that Glasgow Airport is in that area kinda throws me a bit. Dave
-
I have no idea. I've always just assumed its part of Glasgow but now that you mention it the postcode is PA My apologies if i've offended you there. I'll correct my post above. Dave

Great wee regular gig for our classic punk covers band Emergency Exit in The Cave in Paisley, near Glasgow Its a 6-9pm slot so home via kebab shop around 11pm ish. This is one of my fav gigs TBH. Night started well as we arrived with our gear with a local being literally thrown out by bar staff who had been asking him to leave on several occasions as he was very drunk and annoying a couple who were sitting quietly waiting for the band. Then during our 2nd set Jen the owner escorted another very drunk outside altho he was ok and just left without a struggle. Oh happy days in Paisley. Started the set to approx 15 people (its a very small pub so that makes it look busier than you'd expect. By the 3rd or 4th song it started getting busier and by the end of the 1st set it was very busy with several ladies up dancing away. Now that was fun (ny). And that was without our usual local support who were all attending a birthday party. All good tho. We even had one of the Blue Angels come up specifically to see us after playing the Club House last week. He's the organiser for the Ayrshire BA. He's actually a really nice bloke to chat to about bikes and band gear. He even owns a Hesketh (motorcycle for those that don't know) that he bought new in 1982 when they first appeared. That must be worth a fair bit of money nowadays. Anyways it turned out to be another fantastic night in The Cave. Early enough finish to miss the on-coming motorway closures that were being set up as we drove home. No pics or vids as yet but if any appear i'll pop something up. My usual punk gear. Sandberg MarloweDK into Ampeg SVT7 and Mesa SW210/115 cabs. Dave

We have one cat that hates to see my wife leave the house. He sulks at the front door on way out and he now sits facing the door when we arrive home. On the other hand our other cat doesn't give a monkey's what we do unless its dinner time. Dave
