This is basically a brilliant amp with a free cab.
And what a cab. I still miss my Peavey 4x10 - they cut through like a big bass knife.
GLWTS.

Disagree, I really enjoy it on mine. I noticed slightly tighter (and, in fact, weaker) lows and a minor increase in brightness that I love. It won't be an improvement to everybody, but it was to me
Stick with the bigger bridge - I think Jazz basses looks more balanced with a larger bridge.

Just dropped by to say the title of this thread would be a great opening line for a song.
Where do you stand in a five piece band ?
Why does everything on Basschat inevitably have to turn into another bloody argument, just relax, it's just a discussion forum, not really of any import in the grand scheme of things.
Yeah yeah yeah !
Sorry, some of it doesn't scan very well.

...wherever works for the size of the staging area.
Agreed. I'd rather be on the hi-hat side of the drummer, but I've played on stages so small that it was more a game of human Tetris than a matter of choice.

Yes, There’s a balance to be had and, delivering enough differing styles and techniques that clearly demonstrate what an instrument is capable of is completely achievable without making it all about oneself, unless of course, that is entirely the intention 😁.
Of course, if the idea is to remove the personality and skill of the person playing in the demo from the equation then I'm quite happy to be the control who exhibits neither

Mrs. Pook and I are on a road trip holiday and have been listening to quite a bit of Laurie Anderson. We'd forgotten how much we both enjoy her music.
It's great to reconnect - to reconnect to music, and to reconnect to music 👍

Joking aside, as much as I love Nate's playing, his bass demos are actually entirely useless for this exact reason. Everything sounds overwhelmingly like him, and the techniques he uses overpower anything unique about the bass itself. I just wish influencers would just stick to playing the most basic riffs, or recognisable riffs, so you can really get a feel over what the bass can do, not what they can do.
A fine point, well made.

Something like one of those Boiling Vessels fitted to British tanks so the crew can make a nice hot cup of tea.

No price cutting with a Katana then....?
Sorry. I'll get my kimono

You do you !
I've played seated gigs when ankle problems made standing with a bass for any length of time nigh-on impossible...It feels a bit odd, but keep your head up and get as much groove on as you can from your 'relaxed' position.

It may be only a handful of notes and far from involved, but I never get tired of this.
A simple man of simple pleasures, perhaps.

I have a few that I don't play, but just generally because of the nause of selling them.
I'm with you on that.
Although Mrs. Pook is very averse to me selling any....I think she would feel need to sell some of her many many bikes if I pruned my basses

Looks exactly the same model as my old Westone, except mine had a black-painted neck.

I can't think of a single song I hate.
Not see the appeal of, or find boring, yes. But actually hate ?
No.
