4. Traded Please Delete [s]Looking to sell or trade my Yamaha RBX 765A as I need to reduce my current collection and need a new cab. As with all Yamaha products this thing is built like a tank, sounds great and plays nicely too. Very versatile thanks to its active pickups, would fit any style of music played. Specs: Body: Alder/Ash veneer Neck: 34" One piece maple bolt on Fretboard: Rosewood 24 frets Pickups: 2x Active Humbuckers (Im pretty sure they are very similar if not the same as the TRB-II pickups) Controls: Volume, Pan, Bass Boost/Cut, Treble Boost/Cut And the best thing about this bass... Its green with gold hardware! Trust me it look so much better in the flesh than in the pics. Condition wise is damn near perfect, no scratches, cracks or scrapes a few minor bumps on the back but so small that I cant get a photo of them. Price: Im looking for £150 ono or trade for either a 4ohm 1x15 or 4x10 cab with a power handling of 350 watts or above. I am happy to post it at buyers expense, deliver it myself within a reasonable distance, meet half way or im happy for collection from Cardiff. The sale will include a gig bag and strap.[/s]
  5. BUMP! Another price drop £140 with postage! Would like this gone as im buying an amp head very soon.

  8.
Oh god i would love this back. My other BBs miss her. But times is hard. Ben.
I know what you mean, If it wasn't the fact i need a new head I wouldn't be selling it... I got to be honest though the longer its still with me the more I'm thinking of taking off for sale as it is a nice change to the other basses I own and it looks pretty rock and roll
  9. Thanks =) I never have understood much about heads and cabs hence why i generally stick with combos. Any makes in particular i should be looking at?

  11. I have a Peavey TKO 400 watt combo which has been doing me great so far, nice and loud and produces the sounds I like. But as I use it so often for practice and gigs I want to make sure I get as much life out of it as possible and take some pressure of the 1x15 speaker that's built in so I was thinking about getting an extension cab. I've read up that i need a cab that has a tolerance of no less than 8ohms but im not sure on what cab would be best to get, I read somewhere that another 1x15 is the best option but having no experience I wouldn't know if that's true, also what kind of wattage would I need to be looking at?
  12. For a few songs I do use a pick and I prefer the sound of nickel strings
  13. I have no experience with coated string and as there are so many companies bringing their take on them out I wanted to know which were the best you can buy. Checking out strings direct they have Ernie Ball Cobalt sets, Elixirs, DR Extra Life, Daddario EXP and Dean Markley Cryo-tech string. All raging the same kind of price and all promising the same thing but which (if any) are the best? Its worth mentioning that im looking for nickel strings and not steels.
  14. Been using Picato nickel wound strings for a while, they give the exact sound I want and are even better when they lost their initial freshness. Currently using the 45-130 5 string sets which is their standard and very happy with them... Especially for £12 a set!

  16.
Very nice. Why on earth would you trade for another Yamaha? It will sound the same. As for Peavey or anything else, my god you're crazy. : )
You would be surprised, the newer TRB series do sound different and plus even if its trading for another TRB it would be a different colour so just a change of scenery really
What kind of strap are you using? If it's a slippy nylon one then try a wide leather strap with a grippy suede back or one of those neoprene comfort type straps. Cheaper and a lot less hassle than changing tuners.
Im currently using a Levi 3" leader strap with a rough suede back and it still seems to be quite bad, would the height of the strap make a difference?
A set of Hipshot tuners cured the neck dive on my BB. I think Schaller and Gotoh make something similar. They need to be made of aluminium.
Ahh cool thanks will look into that, how much am I going to have to spend?

This might have all ready been covered so apologies if it has but I'm looking for a cure to the neck dive with my BB415, I have read else where that new tuners will do the job, is there anything that could work? If not what tuners do I need to be looking at and how much money will I be I looking at?
  19. Bump! I am open to any trade offers as I would like to explore whats out there. Here are some extra pics =).
  20. Another big fan of picato, I use their nickel round wounds which sound great and seem to last be ages even though they are under pretty heavy use. Been thinking of buying a half round set, I used their flats too which I loved so I can't see why I wouldn't like the halfs!
  21. Thats great thanks will check it out =) I think these were out around the mid 90's but would be nice to know for sure. Also I noticed the pick ups looks awfully similar to the ones in my TRB... are they the same?
