  1. They're 'compatible' in that they will work, but if the cab power rating at 4ohms is less than the maximum power the amp can put out (800w at 4 ohms), you'd probably need to ensure you weren't running the amp at full gain/volume and/or driving it hard.

I haven't seen a 4ohm 2x10 Traveller but I think it would probably be up to a max of about 300/400/500w, so you may find you're not using the full potential of the amp as the speakers can't keep up with it.

Are you sure it's 4ohm and not 8ohm?

eBay will refund you the sales cost or allow you to re-list with no charge if you show evidence of the buyer doing what they've done. I've had that before and they waived the fee I incurred.

I had someone do this to me on an item listed for £1,500 on a 1% FVF offer, so it would have cost me in excess of £150+ to relist.

I had a good moan about it and not only did they waive the 'normal' fees, they actually waived any fees at all, even the 1% FVF etc. I did point out to them that I was happy to pay the original fees but they wouldn't hear of it.

In fact, when you actually get round to speaking to a human, eBay CS are actually pretty good.

That's disappointing, as I want good isolation (I've had issues wih my right ear and I need to keep the volume down on that one or I get really bad tinnitus).

Do you think it's the material or the fit? Could you need a different size?

I haven't managed to try mine yet, I have the Sonicfoam tips to test as well.

Not sure. I do have arther large lug holes (I had to stop using one brand of earplug as they kept disappearing down there, and that was their largest size!) so went for the large Sonicfoam tips. They do say to contact them about fit so I may do that. It might be the smaller size might isolate better as it seals better.

Did a very quick A/B against the Etymotics tonight. I’ve never thought they were lacking until I put them in straight after the ZS10s. Everything is brighter and more ‘present’. Not sure the isolation with the Sonicfoams was as good as the ‘Christmas trees’ on the ER6s though, so that could be an issue. Far comfier to wear though.

Well, gave them a try - sound was amazing, real clarity and separation. However, as I suggested above the isolation with the Sonicfoam tips wasn’t good enough, so I’m going to investigate something else.

Can anyone recommend any flanged IEM tips that work with the ZS10s?

Indeed, mine were waiting at home.

    :)

Wahey, our trusty postie delivered mine nthis morning.

First impressions - much smaller than I was expecting - thankfully, as I was bit worried they might be a bit unwieldy.

I tried the stock earbuds and surprisingly they were fine for me. I'd also ordered the recommended Sonicfoam set and tried those too, and they're good but possibly with more isolation (important for me as I use them playing drums and bass) so I'm going to go with those for now.

Connecting the wire up was a little fiddly but I figured it out in the end. The destructions say look for the 'L' and 'R' markings on the shells but I couldn't for the life of me find them - figured it out after a while though. The over-ear wiring works very well for me.

The initial try out with the sound is great - I started off with Redman/Blade/McBride/Mehldau (as that was what had been played last on my phone) and I was horrified to hear a high frequency hiss. I then realised it was the sizzle of the cymbals which hadn't been coming through when I listened using my headphones or speakers! Very detailed - I can see how some people might find it a bit stark though - everything is there front and centre, so eqing on your playback device might be needed.

I'll give them a try at the gig on Saturday night. I'd usually use my Etymotic ER6s (which are about 16 years old!) so I'll be very interested to see if the greater detail comes through at a gig.

    So far, I'm optimistic!

Looks interesting but what it doesn't show or mention is the separate power supply that's needed to provide the 30-volts DC.

Well, it says "an autonomy of 8 hours" which suggests to me it is capable of running on batteries for up to that time.

Obviously it will need to be recharged, and how and when they do that isn't really a big issue, is it? Lots of devices are rechargeable.

If it's not capable of functioning as an amp on battery power without the PSU then that would be very misleading.

It would be interesting if it was capable of being charged via the USB-C port though.

Does it not come with one? That would be a mite cheeky, neh?

It doesn't say whether it does or doesn't.

In the car My CD player seems to be continually occupied by the 2 CDs that make up Trilogy 2, a ridiculously good live trio album by Chick Corea, Christian McBride and Brian Blade.

Yep, the Trilogy recordings are amazing.

Plus the Akoustic Band stuff with John Patitucci (and really anything with him on too).

Really, it's how long have you got...

I took the plunge and bought a Mac Mini M1 with 16Gb of RAM on Ebay for a great price.

After the pantomime of initial setup (security codes appearing momentarily on the kids' iPads), I now find that my monitor crops the screen, my interface is not supported due to some sort of security update and my hard drive isn't recognised at all.

I'd prepared myself for the pain of learning new software and workflow but that plus having to shell out for a full set of peripherals may be a bit too much for me.

Wow - the interface was released in 2004! I'm amazed it still works with your Windows PCs at that age.

If your HDD is NFTS it won't work with Mac unless you use TP software such as NTFS for Mac.

I wouldn't have thought a 10 y/o monitor would work with HDMI in any event. I daresay it's an issue with the HDMI to VGA conversion. I've successfully used a Thunderbolt to VGA adaptor in the past, though with a new Mac Mini you may also need a Thunderbolt 3/4 to 2 adaptor as well.

Sue Ryder off of charity shops?

    Yep, that's right.

There were a number of SR branded basses and guitars which popped up in their shops for a while, and they were apparently very decent instruments. Not played one meself, but they were very well thought of at the time.

Thanks guys, it seems odd that the venue wants evidence of indemnity cover and not public liability cover, it's a wedding BTW, Having said that, as per @Burns-bass post we are pretty rubbish so perhaps indemnity is more relevant 🤔

Hmm, I'd be a little concerned about that request. Essentially PL cover *is* indemnity insurance - in that the insurer agrees to indemnify you on the happening of a claim arising from loss or injury occurring in the course of your activities.

I suspect the venue want you to indemnify them against claims, losses etc - or they don't know what they're talking about. If the former, be very careful as if you agree to such you could invalidate the terms of your PL cover.

I would go back to the venue and ask why they suggest PL cover is inadequate and what they require over and above that. Certainly a venue requiring an express indemnity is very unusual IME (musician of many years' experience and solicitor who used to specialise in insurance law).
