Bloody bass whores!!!! Now look what you've done to the thread What I'd like to know is what makes a jazz bass a jazz bass? I know the basic fender style but what of the more exotic looking basses with dual humbuckers etc? Is it mainly down to neck size/shape? or does it just come down to the overall sound of the thing?

I was looking at getting a Squier modified jazz as I heard they are just as good as the MIM fender's as my budget is a bit tight and I am really wanting a jazz! Then was planning on throwing new pup's on it and a baddass. Or I could wait a few months and save up, not sure though?

Ahhh, the temptation is unbelievable haha! I suppose I am just looking for some form of justification for splashing out on a new bass! But its just knowing if its going to be really worth it! Hmmm we shall see!

Hello all, I have been wondering for the past couple of days whether or not to buy a jazz bass as I have been getting into playing funk and slap a lot more. I cunrrently play a Fender p-bass and a Spector Rebop 4 which is active with EMG humbuckers. When playing slap and funk I use the Spector as it has a really nice bright tone which is really good for slap. My reasoning for wanting to buy a jazz is I see a lot of people play slap with a jazz bass and they do sound really good for slap. I was wondering if it would be worth buying a jazz and if it would really make a difference when looking for a good slap tone? Cheers

I have a friend whose after selling a fender music master tube amp (circa 1970's) but doesnt know how much it's worth as he was given the amp a few years ago? Anyone an idea of how much they would go for etc? or what even the specs are for this amp (cant seem to find anything anywhere) It's in good clean condition for age (with only a slight dent on metal where control knobs are). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
