2.
no news? i wanna see this Shuker!
I have news but no good news My bass was sent out yesterday and it should have arrived today but due to the funking snow its not gonna get here till next week Absolutely gutted
3.
I hope you are luckier with Courriers than I have been. My new ACG was shipped last Wednesday on a 24hr service and it's still not here. It's stuck in a cold damp warehouse somewhere and still no confirmation as to when it will come. Apparently all the carriers are trying to clear the backlog created by the snow and are dealing with that first. I would add however that I sent the Pleasure Board to Nottingham last week on 48-hour ParcelFarce and it turned up exactly on time. I hope your Shuker makes it through the mire. Enjoy it.
Shocking luck there mate. I hope mine gets here I'm gonna throw a shxt fit if its late
4. I made the payment to Mr Shuker this morning and my new toy will be sent out tomorrow. It's 48 hour delivery so weather permitting it'll be in my hands on Thursday. Can't wait I may phone in sick
5. How about Cat on Eastenders
6.
I had been converted to flatwound strings but recently bought a bass fitted with DR Black Beauties and absolutely loved them. They seem an ideal compromise - slick but bright without the overly zingy newness sound that moved me away from ordinary roundwounds. But cut through so much better than the flats - much better for the rock covers I play. My BBs had chipped a little bit but I saw silddx suggested to someone touching up the chips with a permanent marker - great tip! I would also get them from this eBay seller in the USA. Lots of talk recently about DR Neon strings so, in a moment of weakness I gave in to the GAS and ordered some. And, like everyone else said, found they arrived quickly and slipped through the VAT/Import Duty net and cost about £25 posted. I notice they have BBs reduced at the moment, too, so I may well order a set to keep handy. Edit - in fact I just did - £21.57 incl. postage.
Nice one Paul They'll look the nuts on mu new Shuker Jazz
7. Cheers Col
8. I'm thinking of getting some black strings to go on my new bass which I should be receiving next week from Jon Shuker. The problem is I don't know if these strings are just a gimmic or not and which ones are better than others? I've seen some on ebay for around £30. Is this a fair price? Thanks in advance
9. Shuker for me mate. I'll be having mine next week. Cant wait
10.
and as my signature suggests, I thoroughly approve of your choices but I'd like to add my own: - Take the power back (RATM) - I wish (Stevie Wonder) - Runaway (Jamiroquai) - Can't stop (RHCP) - Walkabout (RHCP) - Love song (311)
nice choices bud BTW "Rage Against The Vending Machine" whoever thought of the name should be knighted. Pure genius
11. Music will tame the savage beast........... so the story goes So what songs or bass lines do it for you? My top three tunes to play at the moment are Soul to squeeze - Chili peppers Wake up - Rage against the machine Suck my kiss - Chili peppers As my name suggests I'm a bit of a peppers fan
12.
Can we see some pics of a similar Shuker then? Ta
There is also a very desirable shuker jazz in the for sale section Its grey and black with a maple board Very smart http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?act=attach...st&id=64097
13.
Can we see some pics of a similar Shuker then? Ta
http://www.shukerguitars.co.uk/stock.htm 4string jass classic the pheonix red one half way down
14. cool
15.
Now you know what a BBOT is you should know the universal put down of "Slap a badass on it!" Which refers to the the badass bridge and its common solution in many circumstances since the 70's (I think) FWIW They are actually good but large.Every day is a school day at BC!
Knowledge is power dude FWIW? Enlighten me bud
16. I see what you mean I've gotta agree with Simon mind you as they do look cool 8)
17.
Has the decision been made for certain now then? Shuker it is then. Any of the bridges other than the BBOT seem pretty good to me and there are many who even love them too. Im sure shuker will only put something suitable and decent on one of his basses anyway.
deffinately a shuker bud. I phoned up Jon earlier and he gave me a cracking deal By the way whats a BBOT bridge?
18.
Not sure what you mean by that ? however Gotoh /Badass/Hipshot/ Schaller are all better that a std BBOT style bridge. As long as it fairly high mass and density and has enough throw to cover any intonation issues, style is a matter of personal preferance.
Not sure what the type of bridge is called but the strings each fit into individual units like on the ibanez btb670 and such
19. I'm getting a custom bass and I'm wondering what type of bridge to put on it. Its a shuker jazz classic and at the moment its having a gotoh bridge fitted What are the advantages (if any) of having bridge made of seperate individual pieces fitted?
20. Excellent Thanks bud The reason I was asking is I'm thinking of getting a new bass that has them fitted to it and I've no way of trying it before I buy it. It's a bit risky but its a gorgeous shuker bass and I think its worth the risk
21. How do you rate these bridges?
22. Hello all I was wondering if any of you out there has had any experience of these pick ups and are they suitable for slap?
23. I'm still interested Col
24.
In fairness I would go back to your original plan and go for a Ray but not that overpriced one (how did you get on with it,no joy?). You should have pick of the crop for £900. Or have you gone totally off them?
Don't get me wrong I still like the ray but I leaning towards something new. I'll try it in the next few weeks and get back to you. It may be the one.
25.
Have you had a shot of a Shuker yet? If not, then do so before buying. It might be what your looking for or it might be a pain in the butt to play. I'd go for a Fender. See what I did there? Try everything before you buy in this price region IMO.
nice switch pete
