  4. [attachment=1963:peavey_001.jpg][attachment=1964:peavey_002.jpg]Well, I did warn you! Peavey Milestone III bass. £30. inc delivery. THAT is cheap. Plays nice enough. Tuners stay put but are in need of replacing due to breaking up. But i am pretty happy really, just thought i would share.
  5. i like to think you tell them they are not up to scratch anc have ..... (x weeks) to sort it or you will need to look for someone who can do what you need. There is no real nice way but hey, people can get better with time or incentives (like getting sacked for the band).
  6. Sorry i guess i should have come here first! So i am an Aussie, based in London, played 6 string for lots of years, now trying to play bass. Very glad i made the decision. Lovely intrument and it is long overdue that i learnt. Big Flea and Charles Mingus fan. Thanks for having me!!
  7. ha brilliant! just the advice i needed. I LOVE this forum!
  8. I have a pair of AKG K100 that i have used for about 10 years with no problems and good sound quality at all volumes. I did a sound engineering course at SAE and they recommended these and i haven't looked back. ''I remember hearing you should mix down on the crappest speakers possible. That way if you make it sound decent it will sound phenomenal on decent speakers. It doesn't work the other way round'' NO NO NO!! mix on good reference monitors that give a FLAT EQ. that is an accurate sound representation. THEN... take a copy and listen on you crappiest speakers you can find, IF that still sounds good you have nailed it. BUT when you have gotten used to your reference monitors you won't need to use the crappy ones at all.
  9. 28yr old male. picked it up this year after years of guitar. Got a P style and a Jazz on the way. Blues and a little funk playing. None of it very good at the moment.
