    Hi Knicknack Interesting pickup for DB. No experience of them. I notice that the box in the picture says: UK. Is that the Kent Armstrong pickups made in the USA? As I have no experience of the pickup in the photo you sent could you answer the following questions? a) What is 'Duel Lock' to the end of the fingerboard? Does it attach with velcro? (In the past I did have a pickup that attached with velcro and the pickup would fall off.) b) Am I right in thinking that the 4 'posts' are adjustable pole pieces for each string? What is the centre to centre measurement between each pole screw? c) I notice that there are 2 seperate leads in the photo--explain why two leads and their function? d) What is the input to the pickup---1/4" jack and 1/4 inch jack to the amp? e) Asking price?     Many thanks for your reply. Not willing to split. Sell as job lot. Buyer takes 'pot luck'. I would not know what make the strings are. I am no string expert. All strings are used. Mike

    Hi Marc I tried the Dominants on my Eminence EUB. I found they were a bit higher tension than the Spirocore Weichs which were on the Eminence. Preferred the Spirocore's for tension on the EUB.

    Boss GE-7 Equalizer. Used. Works well. £50 to include postage to the UK. PM me. Ps--You will notice on the back of the pedal two black strips. That is velcro. I used to velcro the pedal to the top of my amp as the amp had a sloping top.

    Those who use a clip on tuner for the Double Bass: What make of clip on tuner do you use? I have a couple of clip on tuners but they rarely pick up the low E. Do you have one that is good at picking up the low E?

    Hi Nick The D'Addario's I'm looking are for cello not for DB. I currently have Spiro Weich's on my DB--quite like them but I'm looking for a more 'thump'--hence looking for the others mentioned. Looking for used to give them a try.

    Many thanks for all your replies--much appreciated. I'm to 'old' to get into cello tuning--not enough hours in the day. Wish I had taken up 5th tuning years ago. I will get a cello and tune in fourths. If it's good enough for Ray Brown / Oscar Pettiford--------------------------------------------

    Hi to those who play cello--advice needed. I am a double bassist about to try a cello. The cello to be tuned in fourths--as DB. A few questions: a) Have you tried a set of D'addario 'Helicore Fourths' made for DB tuning? Did you like them? Good for arco & pizz? b) Have you used an Octave pedal on the cello to get the DB lower range? If so which Octave pedal did you use? Done a bit of research on the Octave pedal and seems a lot to choose from--as no experience of them. c) Does the DB bow work OK on the cello--do I need to get a cello bow? Many thanks.
