1. Well done. I normally make sure I'm pretty low in the mix.. till I feel a bit more confident and also try to avoid slapping no matter how much I think the song needs it. At least on my first outing lol.
I had an audition earlier this week for a covers band and only knew about 3 of the songs they wanted to try.. Oh it's just blues in E or A they would shout out! The Band is only a sideline project mainly for fun so no harm done and they asked me if I'd come back next week.. so it must of gone ok.

edit: Forgot to say goodluck and hope you get the call-back

Is that not too much of a oneness? lol. Just looking at the headstocks I can see it's not :)
I'm down to 2 P's now one fretted and one fretless, it's hard to let them go!

I put a set on my Stingray. I'm liking them a lot. A bit higher tension than my usual D'Addario EXL170, but they feel nice. Quite bright, higher output, and noticeably midrange rich. I think they suit the Stingray very well. So far so good!

I have been using them on my Stingray for a couple of months now and have to say I think they are a good match as well.

4. Our mate Ed Friedland does some good reviews of the GB stuff. That's why I went all Genz Benz.

Worth a look at his channel if you haven't seen them before. Some of the newer models on there as well.

5. "Sounding better" as they quoted is a matter of personal opinion.
Sorry not be of much help but..
In my experience some cabs are more focused and punchy some have the mid- hump bump etc, I guess it all depends what your looking for...
I use a GB Neox 212 T, which suits me just fine down low and gives me enough punch as well. Trying to save yourself £70 and ending up with the wrong sound would be annoying. Never tried EBS gear, but heard a lot of good reports on it.
Some of the better companies will accept returns if your not happy with your purchase. It can be hard without trying out first and the amount of gear we have to choose from seems to make it harder.
I was lucky I was given the GB on a trial and only had to stomp up if I was happy with it, which I was.
Good luck and let us know what you do.

6. lol they are a great tool in making you be a bit more exact with your playing and can open it up in ways a fretted can't.
I'm still a bit nervous using mine with the band , tho I'm brave enough now to get it out for a song or 2 lol.

7. I'm a big flats man, when I got my first Ray I stuck flats on it right away and dug the sound it gave me, but I now think my P does flats better and the Ray really sizzles with rounds on it... Think I'll leave the EB Cobalt rounds on it till they fade and I'm left on middle ground :)

BTW, I thought the live version of Ashes was ferking awesome and better than the studio versions.

8. Here's another pic of a fretless, so my guess is they did. http://www.jaromi.com/strony/pods/foto/instrumenta/026_basfretless.png

I had a BL 700 back in the day, it was the first bass I ever bought new, couldn't afford a Fender P at the time.

My next Precision is on its way. 1977, in black, with black pickguard, maple neck/fretboard, ash body. Will be a nice mate for my 77 in vintage blond (now a dirty yellow) with black pickguard, rosewood fretboard, ash body. Just gotta wait til next Thursday.

Once I`ve got it, methinks a photo is going to have to go up of the pair of them.

Lol, I'm glad I got that black / maple off you when I did :)
I suppose going the vintage route with the new one I can let you off.,, Please post the pics of it.

Think I'm going to go with my craving and get one of these on order:

Wow! that is good value. Lucky I have my GAS in check for now.

11. They'd certainly still put a lot of Bands to shame.
I think Flea and Chad always give it 110% or they wouldn't bother with it anymore, it's not like they have to!
Last time I saw them live was back in 85 and I have total respect for anyone that can still give it as much as they do.

12. I got to see them last night in Tampere and thought it was a great show, they were ALL ferking awesome :) Lots of jamming tonight which showed how well they all Gel, Flea being the instigator tho ;)

13. You already posted a thread about GB Streamliners..
There are a lot of good heads out there but which one will suit you only you can really tell.. Get yourself along to a decent shop and try a few out.. if you can't do that, then narrow it down to the models that interest you and go search the web for reviews videos etc.

14. lol at some of the above :)
I've had the Pandora PX5 for a few years now, I still use it a fair bit and like that it's so mobile (I can easily take it outside in the garden etc) It's handy also that it has USB connection so you can hook it up to recording software pretty easily. The only downside for me has been my total lack of skill at managing to programme any of the drum patterns, so I have gotten bored with the preset drum patterns, sounds.

..Fast forward to this summer and I purchased myself an iPad and one of the first apps I tried was Garageband, pretty blown away by how fun and Easy (I have to stress easy) it is to use to record and throw ideas down, I especially like the drum sounds and their easy programming. The only thing missing was being able to use my bass and possible guitars, so I have also ordered an iRig and wait to see if this will take me to another level that the Pandora couldn't. Embracing newish technology :)

15. Congrats, they are nice, I have an AS 2009 Jazz, that is a dream to play.
Nothing wrong with the Jap models, my 2005 CIJ is up there with all my American built Fenders :) is that what you mean Lord?
