I'm after one of those puppies too. I've got the single version, but want a double. Was it the Salford PMT you went to Al?

    That Euro 5 was a stonker, beautiful thing, and what a sound !! Best low B I've ever heard. Can't wait to see the new Rebop, hopefully next Saturday in Orrell.

  2. Yamaha BBs are great basses, I can recommend them for that price. Squier Vintage Modified Jazz is about the best bass you can get for that kind of money in my opinion. Anything by Ibanez should be a good bass, but try before you buy.

    If I wanted a bass for around 150 quid, I'd be looking for the Squier.

    Edit; just noticed it's a fiver you want, so I'd look for a Yamaha BB.

    I know he ran into some "issues" here for whatever reason, but I've met Janek twice and he's always been very friendly and nice.

    Cheers

    He did that gig minus his drummer who'd been delayed somewhere on a plane. He spent all afternoon in front of a laptop programming Pro Tools in order to do the gig.

    Top bloke, his mum was nice too (no not like that).

    Issues with people here were blown all out of proportion at the time, by people who didn't "get" what he was trying to say.

  4. Well I'm one of the few SD Quarterpounder fans around, and highly recommend them. I've got one in my Schecter Model T, and have had one in a MIM P bass in the past, and totally love them, power and punch in spades.

    Don't know about Wizards, never had one, but the ones I've heard have been brighter than the QP in basses I've tried. Andy @ Wizard will give you a custom wind though for more bottom end if you need it.

  5. Got mine here;

    Admitedly, they were for a trolley I made for rolling the Trace about on. I certainly wouldn't recommend drilling holes in your cab until you know what's inside, but using sensible short screws should be fine, don't start wacking 3 inch screws in there, there's no need.

  6.
I used to be able to play most of it, it was always the bit where the bass is doing the run very tight with the drums just before the main riff that I found a struggle.
That's the bit that concerns me, I can't pick the notes out of the mix well enough to have a go at it.

  7. I have an OLP Tony Levin that have to muck around on at home. Nice bass, plays well, fit and finish a bit iffy in places, but it's a great bass with a great tone, although I have upgraded the pup and pots, so the tone bit doesn't count.

    Don't compare an OLP to a Stingray though, I've had both, and they're completely different in almost every way, apart from the shape.

    If there's an ATK to be had, and Barry44 is selling his, I'd buy that myself.
