1. Hi everyone,

As it says in the title, apologies for the massive post. Please message me on here or email [email protected] if you're interested. The gear is pretty big so I'd much prefer collection - I'm based in Sale, Greater Manchester.

UPDATE - MONITORS AND POWER AMP NOW SOLD.

A pair of Ohm RW3 passive PA speakers. 15” drivers, 450W each. Carpet covered with steel grilles in good condition. The pic is of one because the other is at our guitarist’s house at the moment.

Can’t find a new price. There are a pair of these on evilbay for £175 at the moment, so [s]£150[/s] NOW ONLY £100 for the pair.

Speakon cables (all lengths given are my rough estimates):
    [s]9m - £10[/s] SOLD
    2 x 7m - £8 each
    Both for £15

    Cheers
    Andy

  2. Hi all,

I'm toying with the idea of swapping my LMII for something more Ampeggy. I love the portability and oomph of the MB but there's something about that Ampeg sound. I bought the amp from Steve on here about 18 months ago, it's been fantastic and is in good nick.

Ideally, I'd like to swap for a PF 500 and a bit of cash, but I'm open to suggestions along a similar line.

I'm based in South Manchester, and would much prefer to meet up to trade. I've only just managed to post xmas cards vaguely in time this year, so couriering amps is probably not a good idea!

    Cheers

    Andy

  3. Just to add my thanks for the advice on this thread.

Just as I was starting to notice the extra effort needed when playing my jazz, it's emboldened me to give it quick quarter turn. I wouldn't have dared before, but after a quick read and 10 mins finding the right allen key, she feels lovely and low again.

    Cheers gents!

  4. For sale is my Air Cell padded strap. It extends from 46" to 55" and is 2.75" wide.

The underside of the strap has what I can only describe as little 'cobbles' (being a Northern lad) filled with air to pad it. Very comfy, but a little too 'bouncy' for me. Used but in good nick with only a little scuff on the 'joiner' bit between padded and canvas sections as you should be able to see in the pics.

The only place I can find these is on the Bay, where they're £24.99 plus £3 postage. This one is a mere £15 posted to your door!

  5. My shiny new Barefaced cab is due in Jan, so I'm looking to move this cab on. Used it as my main cab for light gigging and rehearsals over the past year or so and it's been great. 350 W at 8 ohms and handled pub gigs with my little Mark II very well indeed. I'll post pics when I get home, but it's this model
    http://www.projectmusic.net/ashdown-abm-21...inet-4218-p.asp

EDIT - Here are the 'I got a new cab and not a digital camera for Christmas' quality pics:

It's got that 50s sportscar look to it IMHO and comes complete with Ashdown cover. The paintwork on the handles has a few scrapes and there's the odd scuff at the bottom but otherwise it's in great condition. Here's a pic of the handle as an indication:

I'm based in Sale, south Manchester and would much prefer to meet up to trade or sell. I don't have any experience shipping gear, so wouldn't have an idea of costs. Cash for preference or Paypal as a gift please.

    Cheers for looking

  6.
If the back of the neck is quite high gloss then you have a 60s RI which is from the MIM Classic series. If it's more a dull matt then you have a MIM Standard. The bridge looks 60s RI to me & I do know a bit about teles.
Cheers Burrito! It is high gloss and noticeably darker than other Teles that I've seen, so it looks like we have a 60s RI on our hands. Thanks for the spot guys, now does anyone fancy buying it? :)

  7.
Is it a 60's Tele? Bridge looks like an old vintage bridge - could be a Mexican reissue.
Could be but I'd need someone more experienced in 6ers than me to confirm it. The guy I bought it from was an old school rock n roller who played with a semi-famous 60s R&R band whose name I forget, so that would make sense.

Plus I've just had a quick google and this looks remarkably like mine.

Cheers for pointing it out. :)

  8. I bought this from ebay about 3 years ago with the intention of learning more than C, D and G. Sadly it never happened, and she's too nice a guitar to leave sitting around, so here are the details:

MIM Tele 2002 (SN MZ02..........) in Candy Cola (EDIT - turns out it's a 60s reissue so CAR is more likely). Rosewood board.

She's in great nick, the bloke I bought it from really looked after his kit, and this was a backup. I've hardly touched it in 3 years, so it's in the exact same condition as when I bought it. Plays beautifully, even under my spade like hands! The only flaws are a crack in the lacquer near the neck join which I've tried to photograph (about 1cm long) and a missing plastic pickup toggle. Comes with an *ahem* 'customised' Ibanez hard case that has been 'professionally' carved out to fit the guitar. Not my best work, but it does the job!

EDIT - As it's Christmas, I have upgraded this guitar with an extremely prestigious addition. I've replaced the missing pickup toggle as you can see from these pics:

No, your eyes are not deceiving you, it's a pre-IBM closet classic Caps Lock key in Qwerty black. Gives this guitar that AWESOME pompous sound that cuts through any normal conversation. Ideal for everything from heavy trolling to light spam usage.

Apologies for picture quality, I've only got my phone at the moment.

Was looking for about £220, but to reflect the value of the upgrades it's now £220.01. I'd prefer to trade for or towards a P bass with a maple board though. I could probably make up cash to about £400 for something very nice. Don't mind a bit of mojo either.

I'm based in Sale, South Manchester and would much prefer to meet up to sell/trade. Never posted an axe before, so I've no idea of costs. Don't do Paypal, sorry.

    Any more questions/offers please ask.

  9.
Any one else noticed this lack of GAS in the six string community, or is it my imagination?
Not a chance mate. The guitarists in my band are forever getting new kit. Mind you one of them runs a high end valve amp business and the other is his biggest customer! It's a symbiotic relationship.

One of them is currently whittling down his guitar collection from 23 to a mere 8! And he only gets seriously top end gear, I think he's got bat ears. Sounds b****y good though. They stay behind after practice to talk about valves and such.

I didn't have GAS until I joined this site. Same bass and one amp at a time for the last 16 years. Now I've just commissioned a 1x15 from our amp builder guitarist. First piece of brand new kit I'll ever buy. It's a slippery slope.

EDIT for order - posted the original form my phone and it got jumbled.
