Another excellent basschatter.
Bought a pedal from @jezzaboy. Arrived next day with possibly the best packaging job I've seen.
Highly recommended, thanks!

I once left a band by going to the toilet during a rehearsal and escaping through the toilet window.
Did they not get suspicious when you took your bass with you?

Noticed at half time that one of the PA tops wasn't showing the little blue power light. Waited until the rest of the band were looking the other way before flipping the switch on the back.....

Enjoyed those, great singer with a very nice voice.

Thanks Dave, she's quite a find.
I used to do a bit of noodling over the intro to this, but now I resist the temptation to get in the way, stand back and enjoy.

50 minute afternoon spot at Ellesmere Port Summer Jam today. Only our third ever gig. It's a slow ball to get rolling right now but we're getting there.
No amp/cab, just a HX stomp in and IEM straight from the desk. It always sounds fine at rehearsal but I need to do more work on my gig mix as it's never as well defined. Thinking about that diverts my focus away from what I'm playing, so I need to get it sorted.
Played well, pretty happy all round. Sun came out and people listened. Nice things were said afterwards. Unfortunately the wrestling show had finished by the time we got off stage so my plans for a top turnbuckle band pic were scuppered.
Here's a little phone clip of Macy Gray. Of course, our friends & family managed to catch the bit where I trip over my lead, nearly stack it then hit the wrong note.
And some Jamiroquai with added photo (video?) bombing.

Excellent condition lightly used Mic Mechanic vocal pedal. This is the V2 version.
Affectionately known as the 'talent pedal' by the rest of the band, has a lovely inbuilt EQ that sweetens up the vocal. Also has onboard echo, reverb and pitch correction.
Price includes UK postage, but no power supply or box.

Jim dunlop flush mount straplocks.
Very good condition. The female part of the lock is designed to sit flush in the body of the guitar.
Dunlop describes it like this:
"The specially designed strap buttons are installed flush with the guitar body leaving nothing protruding when not using a strap for playing comfort. The strap secures to the button with a 360 groove and ball design allowing the unit to rotate without catching, the strap can be easily attached and removed from the guitar when required using the push button and interchangeable strap buttons allow the same strap to be used with several guitars. Case hardened steel skin for guaranteed long life and the system has been tested up to 800lbs of pull."
Price includes UK postage.

First time at Matchbox in Warrington. Absolutely huge room.
Sharpening up the short set for our appearance at Ellesmere Port Summer Jam on 3rd August and messing about with phone cameras to try and get some clips for the band socials.

Great straps these. The short version is 3" wide and easily adjustable from 40" - 46". Super comfy.
This one is in decent nick, all the main strap ends, sliders etc are in great order. However, there's a little bit of bobbling on the outer grey fabric and the stitching on the pick pocket is coming away. Hence the price.
Collect from Sale, South Manchester or a couple of quid postage.

My current band is Tea Time Funk Club, based between Manchester & Liverpool.
We're a covers band playing chilled out, funky versions of 90s RnB, classic soul and pop - a similar vein to Scary Pockets and Couch. It's completely different from anything I've done before, a real workout as I have to be much more precise and considered in stripped back arrangements.
Four piece - Bass, drums, keys & vocals with hopefully a sax player on the way
We've been together about a year - started gigging last March but getting the ball rolling has been slow going. We've done two gigs with another in August but we're still trying to find the right venues for the stuff we do and then get our foot in the door.

After all these decades of doing shows, I'm still struggling with smiling and looking like I'm having a good time.

I know it's harder for some folk, but at the end of the day we're the entertainment.
It's our job to convince people that they're having a good time (and hopefully to buy more drinks etc). If that happens then everybody wins and we hopefully get rebooked.
For me that starts with looking like I'm enjoying myself. I'm lucky enough to be able to gig as a hobby, so it's supposed to be fun, otherwise why would I bother?

Was that a subtle nod by Alanis' bassist - using a Flea Sig jazz?
Also, Blossoms bass tone is my new target sound. Bloody great!

Don't sell yourselves short. You guys have a good thing started. You guys sound high end so I'm hoping to hear about high end gigs for you guys.
Thanks very much Blue, appreciate you taking the time to say so.
We've had enquiries about a festival slot next month and a 2026 wedding at a very posh venue (it's been used as a film/TV set quite a bit) already, so hoping they both pan out.

Cheers John,
Yep, we're very lucky to have her. I've found a longer clip on an instagram feed.
Edit - no it doesn't. Account is set to private. Hopefully this link works.

Wow! This is cool. It would be hard to find a female lead singer like that in my area.
Daryl
Thanks Blue. Yep, she's a find, I got lucky with this band. Still early days but I think we'll get some great gigs once the ball is rolling.
Hope your ankle heals up quickly.

TTFC's second gig last night at The Garden, Chorlton.
Venue used to be Font Bar but has just changed hands, so all the signs still say Font. They're just getting live music up and running, so there isn't a ready made audience there yet. Fortunately it's a local gig for two of us so we brought quite a few people, to the extent where I knew almost everybody in the place! It's got a lot of potential once it gets a reputation and people know there's music on. Bar staff were super chilled and helpful, always a bonus and never taken for granted.
We played well, although I made more little mess ups than I should have. The drummer is fettling the recordings, so I'll be able to agonise over them at my leisure soon despite being the only one who noticed on the night. Two 1hr+ sets and 30+ songs (most of them new to me) that haven't all embedded into the muscle memory yet.
Gear was Fender Japan Kazuki Arai Jazz 5 -> HX Stomp -> GR One 350 -> PA. Footwear was Vans classic lace ups.
A couple of phone clips from friends. If anyone can figure out how to let me resize them please shout up!

My new band's second gig this Friday (6th June).
9pm - midnight three setter at The Garden (formerly Font Bar), Chorlton, South Manchester.
Really looking forward to it after a year or so of spinning the band up, rehearsals and trying to get our foot in the door at venues. Playing live is where it's at for me.

Help! 1st time on stage...

I'd agree with all the comments about practice, but be kind to yourself too.
If you make a mistake then you make a mistake. I make loads every gig, and that's without an emotionally loaded situation like it sounds like you'll be in.
I'm really sorry to hear about your brother, but I'm sure he'd be unbelievably proud of you. Everyone there (and here on BC) will be rooting for you too, break a leg.
