Cheers, James[/quote] I was contacted by a certain dealer yesterday evening offering just such a deal on all the instruments I currently wish to sell,however in the past I have had experiences that tell me not too. If they sell they sell.I am not really fussed about it one way or the other. I will use Gumtree & preloved first at least someone gets the chance at a better price,I never could understand why anyone is happy to pay the inflated price over buying private...it is 36 years old and comes with no garuntee whether from me or the dealer in his shop!!! As for the way it plays anyone is more than welcome to come try it.....I make lovely lager T

I've been watching Rick copies on Ebay for about 6 years or so (OK, I'm sad - these basses are something of an obsession for me!) and the most expensive sale I've ever seen was an El Maya 4001S (unbound body, dot inlays & very, very very rare) which sold for £656 at the end of 2008 to someone in Sweden, who was likely taking advantage of exchange rate antics. Jon.[/quote] Hi Jon Yep that was my CSL.......its giving my age away now...back then it was all we could afford however that one was a bit special. Like I have said I really honestly & truthfully would rather keep this old girl.It plays as well as the Ricky then some,I have no intention of losing her lightly.I do have another 70.s 2388B-NT but its not to the standard of this one however if this one should sell I would spend the time and money getting it there in the future. Did you not see the Ibanez that sold in Italy on the bay with warped neck & the Uk one that went to the States both made more than this. I also have the ElMaya and if I can find a decent PUP I will be putting that up for sale,however I would argue they are totally unbalaced in comparison to this Ibby. What I do know is someone out there will be looking to buy a Faker and Parting with like £500,it will come in a crap gig bag and the setup will be awful. Im not saying to anyone take it at face value or to how I describe it if you want a nice bass that really will not lose money as time progresses and that plays wonderfully....come take a look. And as I have said I appreciate your comments and do not wish to argue against them I will however close in stating this genuinely is streets ahead of the majority of Fakers that I have had or played,you know yourself you can try out 20 Fender P,s before you come across one that stands out from the crowd.. Jon.[/quote] I thank you for you comments and understand your reasoning fully.I price it as I do because I paid £630,then another £35 for the pickup cover(its a ricky one)then I had it professionally set up...along with the Rickenbacker I have..... As I have already said I dont really wish to sell this one and Im hopeful that another of the members from this site will be taking the Ricky today,I currently need to move one to pay off for a new amp, I honestly prefer this one over the Ricky it plays smoother and sounds very nice indeed. With regards to those we see selling on ebay....invariably you see the same ones on their over and over again...usually they have truss rod and neck issues... Mine does not,and the condition for age is incredible. Also come with TKL hardcase these aint cheap either.... As for the string mute...I removed it but cant remember where I put it and to be honest I get better damping with a duster,finger rests are 2 a penny....all said and done anyone looking for a Ricky would be impressed with this ol girl and if so worried about the Ibanez name they could fool others with a ricky truss cover..Is anyone that anal..anyone wanting to try it out against the Ricky I have sat here will see precisely what I mean. It does not show in the pics but this bass also has an original Ricky brdge/pup cover fitted Also a couple of pics of the Ricky & Gretsch I am looking to sell on Cheers T

Im sort of in a quandry.. .I need to sell a couple of my basses and It was my intention to keep this ol girl however I feel the lower price compared to my Ricky may lead to a better chance of a sale. This is a 1974 Ibanez through neck in really pretty amazing condition ,plays extremely well and I would not mind keeping this one in preference to the Ricky but 1 has to go,it has a TKL hardcase which is in very good nick. Like I say this bass plays extremely well and sounds very good indeed,there are no issues or faults and it has been very well cared for for over 35 years. Genuine 2007 Rickenbacker in AMBER FIREGLO finish, this finish is like "Rocking Horse S**t" to find and as far as I'm aware this is the only 4003 Amber Fireglo to be imported into the UK in 2007. A very similar later model was recently sold by a Rickenbacker importer for £2300, so £1400 ovno is very reasonable for this.Comes with its original Rickenbacker hardcase.
