Up for sale really something I have never seen here before;)
Eyb Bassiq J Resoline 5 made by Gunther Eyb in leonberg Germany.
For anyone who visited the Musik Messe in Frankfurt you prolly have seen him or played his basses.
This bass is a copy of the model that Raoul Walton plays, a New York bassist residing in Germany who plays with many artist like Roachford mousse T and Many others the last goes on and on...
Anyway it's a bass that has a very distinct sound also the pickup placement is a little different then most mm/j combinations this one has the true mm placing. But I can say it doesnt sounds really much like a mm tho;) it has a very airy dry percussive throaty sound, something I was in search for for quite long, perfect for modern gospel and r&b.
Might be the haussel pickup and/or the chambers, is a very big sound perfect for anything from gospel to rock, iTS quite versitile.
I currently have a 6 string and normally I mostly play 4 string p basses so there is no need to have 2 extended range basses, no matter how good they are.
The bass has recently been made like new by Gunther as he refinished the body for me.
The bass has an alder back and ash front, some accoustic holes where the upper chamber is, one piece maple neck with Indian rosewood board, plays beautifully sounds really like nothing ive heard before, and it has the newer version of the sadowsky preamp with vtc, further more an active passive switch on the side of the body and a coil tap near the controls.
The bass is light resonant has a good defined low b string, nothing not to like, oh yeah and it looks real cool too!
Here some clips of Raoul playing this type of bass he has one with a maple neck the rest of the specs are identical, bass sounds pretty much identical anyway...be warned the video's are quite funny;)
