1. I think the majority of early Streamers were cherry and I'd be inclined to think yours is the same, but it's a fine piece of wood whatever it may be. I'd wax it too - there's no bass prettier than a natural Streamer. Dodge
2. Does it come with the PSU? Cheers
3. My vote goes to Sennheiser HD-280 Pro's. I tried all the usual suspects - Sony MDR-7506, Beyer DT100's and the AKG 240 Studio versions before deciding between two - the Sennheisers and some Audio Technica HD40's. Tough choice, but I went with the Sennheisers. Are you definately sure it's the headphones distorting, or is it the amp? If the headphones are high impedance, the volume will be lower, and as you turn it up, the amp can work too hard and distort. What amp is it? Ta Dodge P.S. I'm not a Mac man either, but 4.5 GB of RAM should be plenty for any audio application.
4. Thanks Ped. Sound clips here: http://www.tvjones.com/tvclassic.htm Ta
5. Hi guys, Potentially bending the posting rules here as I bought these in the States for a project that finances don't currently allow me to complete. If the moderators don't like it, please accept my apologies and feel free to delete the post. Bridge and neck set in chrome covers - they sound wonderful. Don't have pictures, but they're brand new and pics and sounds are on www.tvjones.com website. They're brand new - with warranty. Don't know how much interest there will be here on a bass forum, but I'm sure like me a fair few of you play guitar also. Looking for £130 - I'm in East Cotwolds / Oxford / Kidlington area, with occasional trips to North Hampshire and Aylesbury / Bucks. Cheers, Dodge
6. Someone has told me this has the AAA flame maple top - I know nothing of these things other than it's got more figuring than most other Streamers I've seen. Anyway, seemed a good reason to give it a bump. Cheers, Dodge
7.
No doubt Tim markets Bareknuckle stuff well, I just disagree with the prices he charges and have an issue with his morals, I know for a fact that the parts he uses come to at most £5 per pickup and I've watched him wind one in about 15 minutes!! Should we pay him the equivalent of a £400 an hour salary? I think not.. not-withstanding the fact that he screwed Wizard over on the whole deal.. I don't work with people I can't respect.. (I sound like a whinging idiot here.. sorry..)
Hmm - I'm not remotely familiar with Wizard / Bareknuckle's history and this probably isn't the most appropriate place to discuss it, but my feeling is Andy builds a pickup equal to anyone and superior to many builders in the world right now, and they're an absolute steal at the prices he charges. On a different note, I've just taken a peek at the guitars on your website - wow, they're beautiful!

Ok, I'll go. Great comms, nice bloke and it turned out to be a bargain. Thanks again Graham! Dodge
9. No takers? I'm open to offers. Cheers
10. Hi guys and girls. Can't believe I'm doing this, but a change of circumstances means I've got to raise some funds and my bass needs to go. It's mint, comes with the original gigbag, truss rod tool, wax and manual. It's not a gigged bass and has been looked after. I'm in SE Cotswolds / Kidlington / Oxford area, I'd rather not ship it, but I will if necessary. Looking for around £900. Cheers, Dodge
11.
Oh.. and he designed Bareknuckle's entire starting range of pickups
Really? That's interesting. Still, kudos to Bareknuckle - they've made quite an impact on the 'boutique' pickup buyers. Nice to be selling music hardware to the Americans for a change!
12. I've got some Wizards in my G&L Legcacy - Andy is a top bloke and he truly does make world class pickups. I've not tried his bass offerings but if they're half as good as the guitar pickups he makes, they'll be fantastic. It's refreshing to have people lusting after UK-built products again - Bare Knuckle have done a fantastic job marketing their pickups and are well known, Wizard pickups are as good as Bare Knuckle and far better value too. Part of me is glad Andy is still 'small time' - it keeps the service personal, the quality top notch and the price sensible!
