  5. This is currently mu favourite thread on Basschat, there is some excellent advice and everyone is really positive, keep it up ! GD
  6. That Chorus is awesome, I play quite dark, gothic, music and it would work a treat - but not at that price ! GD
  7. What were they thinking ! I thought my own band photo's were band enough over the years - now I almost feel redeemed ! GD
  8. I'm interested in getting one, probably the Rock bass version, probably 5 strings, but maybe not. Before I even try and hunt one down to play test what are opinions on them (not the shape as that is a really personal choice but playability / sound etc) ? cheers for the input GD
  9. Have you checked your previous PM's Dave ? GD

  11. Hi I couldn't see a picture for the AH250 do you have a picture ? cheers GD
  12. Interesting links you've sent - but they do highlight what I was saying, one of those is handmade another is available in Chrome or gold plated only. Is a high C string so unusual that main stream manufacturers (eg D'Addario Elixir etc) don't do them as a set ? GD
  13. I've just bought a new 5 string Steinberger Spirit bass of these forums. I have also ordered an adaptor from the states that will let me string it with normal single ball ends instead if double ball ends. I enjoy playing my 5 strings (I have another as well) - the problem I always get is finding the right strings for them. The band I play in isn't heavy enough to warrant the low B and often has a lot of space where there is singing and minimal guitar picking - this gives me the space to play passages that little bit higher and not thunder away underneath the singer. So I like to string my 5 with a high C instead of a low B. Why don't string manufacturers accommodate this ? I can low B sets in every make and gauge under the sun but can't find a simple 5 set with a C. I have resorted to buying 6 string sets instead. Luckily my favourite strings are D'addario Nickel and they do a 6 string set but surely other people somewhere must have this problem as well ? GD

Thanks I'll give it a try. I've just picked up a passive bass here and I'll try that too. Thanks GD

Hi Bozzbass, I'm interested in your results. I've had one for about 2 months now and find it pretty much unusable. It will track very slow passages OK, but then start to jump around all over the place when you get to even a moderate pace. It also seems to pick up on harmonics somehow because half way through a progression it will play the right note but at the wrong octave. I keep on trying because if it works it will great for my new band. GD
  16. Thanks guys for the quick response, I'll have to do a bit of diggign around now. cheers GD
  17. Hi just watched the later show, Tom Jones did two tracks, does anyone know who the bassist was on the first track ? I loved the playing, understated yet right in the pocket. Names on a postcard please ! GD

  21. I've decided to try and pick one of these up second hand now, I'm a bit worried that no one has replied - possibly meaning that no one is using one ? All the reviews I've read have been positive, is there something I'm missing here ? cheers GD
  22. Looks like either a full stop or possibly a flea ? GD
