1.
In a word 'Yes'! I loved mine and only sold it as I wanted to go lightweight... I bought a pair of MB heads to replace it but they quickly made room for my Thunderfunk. Was your rig on eBay a few years ago Aero?
Yes, its been a 'spare' for a while now so I decided to cash it in. I've effectively got a second rig to sell, H&K 600 plus Eden 1x15. I would consider px with a Status Graphite fretted Jazz neck. How's the Thunderfunk, is your reply going to give me more GAS? cheers Fran
 2.
Always fancied one of these; are they as good as the reviews say?
Absolutely, I think it has a valve preamp and gives that warm sound. I used to have the 2x15 and 4x10 cabs, it was monstrous Typical german engineering. Built to last I bought a new Eden head cos I prefer a more 'hi-fi' sound and needed to downsize
Fancy trading for a marshall vba400?
Unfortunately my recent gear spending spree means I need the cash Cheers Fran
 3. Bass Base 600 Amp back up again. Excellent condition with footswitch and hard case. Pics to follow Can deliver in London cheers Fran
 4. Having just bought an Eden 2x10 I now have to get rid of my Eden 1x15 xlt 400w cab. Bought from new, hardly gigged, excellent condition, with castors. pics to follow but checkout the Eden website http://www.eden-electronics.com/products/cabs/ Can deliver in London cheers Fran
 5.
Anyone ever played one? Since Squier seem to be pumping out the brilliant 4 string stuff at the moment, I was wondering if the 5 strings match up. I've been gasing for a fender recently and this would fill the hole for a fair bit less money.
hi, I bought one last summer for less than 200 notes new. Best value I've had on a bass. The finish is excellent though the tuners were budget ones. the bridge is a decent High mass one. They vary in weight, mine is on the slightly heavy side but still useable for gigging. The neck is great and a low action can be achieved, in fact it was pretty good out of the box. The fingerboard is pretty wide , good if you like wide string spacing. With active electronics it can do most of what you'd want from a Jazz bass. I've owned way more expensive 5 stringers and this can hold its own. Recommend trying one mainly for weight and the neck width cheers Fran
 6. Finally got phase one of the project finished. I decided to stick with the Fretted Aerodyne neck until I can get the fretted Status Jazz neck. That'll be Phase two. The John East J Retro preamp is unbelievable. There are so many Tonal variations and the passive switch puts the mind at rest should the battery die mid gig. Thanks to SparkyMark for the bits. Here are a couple of pics Cheers Fran
 7. Hi, Just an update on the project so far. I managed to source the Status Graphite neck, apair of EMG JV pickups and a John east preamp/control panel from SparkyMark, here on Basschat. I hadn't intended to go fretless on this bass but until I find the fretted Status J neck, this'll do nicely. (thanks Mark) I found the Schaller 2000s bridge from a great store called Applestone Music & sound in Torquay http://www.guitar-parts-and-spares-uk.com Not only did the stuff arrive next day but they phoned up within the hour to sort out an out of stock pickguard. Great service In fact the pickguard was the most difficult part to buy, not least because there are many pickguard variations over the years With Ernie Ball flatwound strings from Stringsdirect (nextday delivery and good prices) and a pair of schaller straplocks she's almost complete. I'm going to have to rout the body to take the J pickup in the neck position and for a battery compartment in the back. The schaller bridge is beautiful and is likely to be a standard mod in the future. I've had to shim it up with a steel plate because of the curved top of the body. Hopefully I'll have the finished article by the weekend. Meanwhile here are photos of the parts. cheers Fran
 8.
Mmmmm, could be intrested in this, a bit too rich for me right now, will take a look again in a few weeks! Tony
PM on its way Fran
 9.
I don't have any experience with Status Jazz necks but I do with S2/S2000 necks and I love them. The jazz necks should be built to the specs of the original. Rob Green can always add a tint to the process or even paint it a colour of your choice.
I've got the headless Status 1000 and used to have an S2 which I 'HAD' to sell (sob!). and I do luv the graphite necks. I hope the Status Jazz is as thin as the Aerodyne cos that one is gorgeous. I've managed to locate a Status Jazz neck. If I can do the deal then the bass should be up and running in a couple of weeks. the bridge is going to be another problem as the standard replacements won't fit in the recess. Cheers Fran
 10. Let this be a lesson to you all. GAS can creep up on you without you realising and, before you know it, its too late. It started with a bargain pair of EMG PJ pickups and EMG BTC-preamp that I was lucky enough to pick up on Gumtree a few weeks ago. Perfect for upgrading my Aerodyne Jazz bass. But....... I had the bass signed by Norman Watt-Roy and the rest of the Blockheads and I'd have to chop it up a bit to get the bridge and battery compartment in etc. Maybe I should put them in another body and just re-use the neck and hardware, 'bound to find one on E-bay'. Bit of luck, finally succumbed to lovely Non-export Aerodyne Jazz body in US Gunmetal Blue, and closed the deal today. Sorted? Not quite As if Barclaycard had been watching my every move on Ebay, a letter arrives 'within an hour' saying they've decided to increase my credit limit. Ooohhhh Noooo. Big time GAS Well, now I've got this far I may as well find a decent neck to put on it and leave the the other bass intact. Hmm Should I wait to find an Aerodyne Jazz neck with matching colour headstock (My favourite neck shape at the moment) or ...maybe ... a Status graphite Jazz neck? (Screw it, I might as well put in that Schaller bridge whilst I'm at it). http://schaller-guitarparts.de/hp135112/Ba...26ec7c3665X4124 Anyone with experience of the Status Jazz neck your comments would be welcome. It should look similar to this (the US Gunmetal Blue one) http://kenji-cij.blogspot.com/2009/04/ajb-jazz-aerodyne.html So, be careful when doing simple mods like changing pickups, GAS may get you in the end. I'll post pics once the parts arrive. cheers Fran
 11.
Hey guys Looking into buying a new head below £1000 Found this little devil, the Eden WTX500, looks very practical for my kinda setup. Does anyone have any feedback on Eden? alternatively, does anyone have this head and could tell me if its worth the money? Saw a video of the bass player from the stooges trying his Eden rig, but it was quite hard to understand him Thanks very much!
Cris de Man, Eden amps give a great combination of tone and power. They are rather more clean sounding than most but still sound full and uncoloured. You'll probably find you hardly have to touch the tone controls to get a good sound I've had my WT800c since christmas and I know I will be heard in any gig, In fact the 500 would be enough for most of the gigs I do. The DI sound is fantastic for recording. Last two sessions the Engineers have not really EQ'd the sound at all Highly recommend them. cheers Fran

 14. I've always had a good experience with musicman/ EB Stingrays. Always consistent feel and construction. I've never liked the sterlings etc but still they were consistently made. Fenders on the other hand were very variable and for me, were a bit of a lottery. love hate relationship. If I had to buy a bass sight unseen it would be a Stingray 3eq cheers Fran
 15.
Man, I can't wait to experience that myself! Nice rig mate, looks suitably loud . What kind of music will you be using it for?
My regular gig is blues but this really stands out for funk/slapping and indie rock stuff. I've also recorded with Eden heads on two occasions. Head, DI'd into the desk. You get an instant great tone with no messing. Sound engineers loved it. So it will get used on all sorts of music. Perhaps one downer was that the first unit I received had to be replaced. A factory mod had not been carried out before shipping from the States and I had to get a replacement. (Quality Control???) . However its built like a tank and has a good reliability record. Cheers Fran
 16.
a perfect rig doesn't exist! A pound on it not being the same next year Looks pretty epic though, well done!
This will be my 5th rig in 30 years, Marshall, Peavey , Trace Elliot, H&K, Eden. so I'll collect my quid next year. Seriously though, I've had the cabs a couple of years but never had the dough to buy the head. I do feel I am finally in control of my sound, at any volume. All I'll say is try one. You will instantly know if you like it or not. Cheers Fran
 17. Just took delivery of my Eden WT800C head to complete my rig. (It replaces the H&K BassBase 600) Simply Awsome. 100% clarity. When set to neutral, you really get to hear the sound of your bass. But if you want coloration the 'Enhance' knob and EQ section gives you instantly useable variation. For most gigsI'll only need the top cab but there are a few outdoor gigs coming up. Hardest choice will be what bass to play with it. Currently its the Stingray 4 but the Squire Jazz 5 Deluxe gets used almost as much. Looking forward to the guitarist telling me to turn the volume down a bit. Cheers Fran

 19.
Try one before buying it - if the neck's the same as the Precision Standard V (the nut is the same width), it's clunky. Which is fine if you like clunky but I don't.
The necks not clunky at all , its wide and not that thick for a 5 string Thats why its getting good reviews

 21. Took delivery of my olympic white one two weeks ago. Been running it in on gigs and so far my initial thoughts were confirmed. Its a great bass for stupid money. My new Boss tuner and a set of strings cost half as much as this bass. My regular bass is a Stingray 4 string , and I don't particularly miss playing it. The string spacing is wide and is not like a Jazz at all but still very playable. With minor tweaking you can get a very low action The sound is good with good variation in tone though not quite a Marcus Miller Jazz tone main disadvantage for me is the weight but then I've played Status for years. Also the Machine heads are crap, mine was delivered with a broken peg so I got a discount ( after fully checking the base for other damage) and replaced them, which I was going to do anyway. The finish is very good but I would check each one as build quality may vary I recently sold my status 5 string (to pay the mortgage) and I'd say this jazz is close on its heels.
