badboy1984 Posted August 7, 2010 Share Posted August 7, 2010 Here is the story, i use to own a warwick corvette std 4 string but have to sell it due to lack of cash to buy a musicman stingray. now i've bought a well looked after used warwick corvette proline 5 string for £250 (very cheap). The bass is swamp ash for sure but hte nut and neck feel completely different than the warwick i use to have. Not sure what year it is but i think is 1990-1995, since the bass is not register with warwick so i can't check for full spec. Neck feel very smooth and not as thick, maybe a wenge neck i got here ....... and the nut is like some kind of metal/brass instead of the plastic nut. So do you guys think i just score a old warwick with wenge neck and bell brass nut? Also the bass is passive version with bartonlini pickup. thisnameistaken Posted August 8, 2010 Share Posted August 8, 2010 I don't think they started making the Corvette until 94 or 95. Check the end of the headstock for a serial stamp, that should tell you the year and month of manufacture (eg. my bass is A2714 91 - A being January and 91 being the year).
