Ibanez Musician (1980)

I have a 1980 Ibanez Fretless Musician for sale (serial No. L804851) I believe its all original gear. Fretless (with inlays) chrome tuning heads and gold bridge. The heads are perfect but there is some oxidisation on the bridge, but not much. A few minor dinks on the body with a couple very minor on the neck. The electrics are fine but the pick up toggle prefers to stay in the middle position rather than up/down so that needs some attention.

I bought it about 8 years ago, but I really couldnt get on with the fretless neck so it has sat forgotten in its case for the best part of that time. Im looking to by another Guitar (not bass though).

Looks like a defret, can you please provide some close up pics showing the condition of the fingerboard? Also what is the weight and where are you located? Thanks

Sorry I thought this thread had long gone!!!! I beleive that it is a defret, I bought it off my mate who claimed that he used to live near and was friends with the bloke who worked on Clapton's guitars and he did the defret for him. But then again he could be talking B*ll*x.

I live in Dubai, which is where the bass also resides, but I do visit home (UK) frequently and can bring it back if required. As far as weight goes, I havent any scales sorry, but I am used to a Strat and find this thing reall heavy.

Anyway my son has taken a shine to it so I may encourage him to learn the bass, just not sure that a fretless is the best to learn on, but then again I suppose that it is what you get used to???

Price....well I was hopeing 450 quid for it, I wont sell it for less, I think that it is such a lovely looking instrument and I have had it so long already that it isnt that big a deal if I sell it or not. My plan was to buy more guitars, but since the original thread, I have discover the art of rebuilding from parts and now have 2 more georgous strats in my collection which is enough now methinks.... :)
