As you'll see in the attached photo, they almost look rusty, however they're not rusty. How would I go about cleaning them up? MoonBassAlpha Posted May 31, 2010 Share Posted May 31, 2010 I'd try ScotchBrite, the plastic scouring stuff. Works surprisingly well on metal, and won't get stuck (magnetically) to the pickups. You may also want to mask the plastic body as it is pretty abrasive stuff. You could make a mask with a bit of cornflake packet and judicious use of a hole punch... Al Heeley Posted June 1, 2010 Share Posted June 1, 2010 if the poles are just proud of the plastic you can also try using one of those 4-sided foam fingernail buffers you'll find in the wife's side of the bathroom cabinet, they work wonders as a mild abrasive for buffing up light metalwork.
