Hey

I was just wondering what are the main differences between the squier vintage modified p bass, http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product.asp?id=5403

and the squier standard p bass special,

and has anyone played one of them ?

Main differences:

1 has 1 pickup, 1 has 2 (no prizes for that one, I guess)
The VM P has a wider neck (41mm at nut) than a Standard P (Jazz width - 38mm). May not seem like a lot, but crucial for some.
The VM range probably has a slightly better value retention than the Standard.

So sound wise is there much difference ?

If we're really honest with ourselves, there's very little difference between the sound of any modern passive p-bass or any half decent clone. This has been my experience. Check out this video and see for yourself here on YouTube
