New on here, but I thought I'd share the shots of my soon to be arriving Tom Clement bass.

All this in a little over a month!

If you haven't heard of Tom Clement (I hadn't until an impromptu visit to ebay), he's a top geezer and a hell of a luthier to boot.

I've been following your build on TalkBass.
That's gonna be a one hell of a bass!

What's the ETA?

Sometime in the next couple of weeks!!

Its been cold in Florida, which apparently is not good for the polyurethane coats that are going on!

Yeah, thats a beaut. Tom's keeping that one, he said he couldn't sell it after Mr Friedland had his hands on it! But Tom is definately building one for the editor of Bass Gear Mag and maybe one for Ed himself!!

"Take a look at that black limba - OOOOOOHHHH YEAH!!"
Looks like the forbidden child of a Jerzy Drozd and a Thumb BO!

That spalted maple is wild. If I ever get another custom, that would be the kind of top I'd want. And the black limba of the other clement :)
Took an age to pick the right top. Its funny how the simplest things (like I want a spalted topped bass) takes the longest time!

Not seen the Jerzy's before, but having dropped in on their site, they're pretty wild. The pickup placement was my choice and defiantely 'inspired' by the Thumb 5. Really wanted to get that B nailed down tight! Can't wait to see / hear / feel the results!
